Hello all! I recently received a FJ Cruiser kit as a gift and after some considerable assembly time I took it on its maiden trip through my back yard. I think I was a little over zealous with the throttle and I managed to break both rear axle mounting points and lose a spring retaining clip. I'm now on the hunt for suitable replacements/upgrades - especially for the rear axel housing as the plastic stock unit did not fair well after about 15 minutes of my use. Broken Rear Axle: Missing Spring retaining clip: Any suggestions on where to obtain replacements? I don't mind upgrading the rear axle, but any old replacement for the spring clip thing-a-ma-bob would do fine. Thanks for lending your expertise! |

GPM do an ali replacement axle case and RC Channel do a complete metal axle and matching front suspension. The other bit from Tamiya or ebay. |

For the price of the gpm axle id just save up and get the rc channel. Its waaaay nicer and bulletproof. Also kills a few birds at once, front suspension lift, decent 4link and aluminum all around!!!

Is the rc channel axle kit still as "sloppy" as it was a few year's back? Think i coud move the axle 1-2 cm left and right... Or did they fix it. Sold the one i had, and mounted back the plastic axle with junfac's 4 link. Worked much better at the time. Might buy the rc channel axle kit if they fixed that issue, as it looks much better. |
