Default Just Pulled the Trigger on a Unimog

I just pulled the trigger on a Unimog 406 (CC-01 of course). On sale at Tower Hobbies, $178 shipped with Green and Black Spray paint and a pair of polyC scissors (my first Polycarbonate body). They had a $30 off coupon combined with the sale price...had to buy it.

I also ordered the GPM steering kit, steering links, and uper suspension links as well as a Fast Eddy sealed bearing kit.

I've been Monster Trucks all my life (see sig). This is my first shaftie scale model and I am looking forward to the change.

I will be combing this forum for ideas and recommendations, like I have for the Clods and Blackfoots.

Will take pics when I start the build.

I have radio gear, for now. Better motors and speed control later.... need to rebuild the hobby account....but I think I have a good start.

I think someone has a Tamiya addiction lol. Welcome to the scale side of things. Looking forward to seeing your build.

Still hasn't shipped....getting excited.

Good thing about a single brand is a lot of parts interchange.

I suspect the next build will be a new strange brand. Tamiya seems to have a larger variety of kits then most. There are a lot of interesting rc out there, but I would never buy an rtr as the build is more fun than the drive. The drive is good too, though...

Kudos to Tower Hobbies. Not only one of the best prices I could find (and free shipping), But I ordered late Sunday night. Shipped Tuesday morning and arrived at my doorstep Wednesday. This was with standard, free shipping.

I have some hop up parts ordered, but only one item has even shipped yet.

I have trouble with the China located vendors as I am impatient, and the 2-3 week (sometimes longer) shipment drives me crazy.

Can't post pics yet for some reason....so no pics ...

Fast Eddy Bearings set arrived today....still waiting for the Chinese New Year to end so my other parts get going.....seems everything I order goes to the same Chinese Shipping company: " Way Too Long" shipping.
