More progress on the bed. Finally decided how to latch the tailgate up. Tailgate down flat: Tailgate down all the way and the sides dropped: I wanted to paint it green, but my wife, who usually isn't interested in this stuff thought it should be black. I am now inclined to agree, so I will be priming the metal and painting it black. I also decided to make the bulkhead out of the lexan from the body sides, rather than leaving it metal. It hides the magnets and uprights supporting the sides. The ideas keep evolving as I complete sections. I might redo this one day, and incorporate all the changes without all the extra parts I ended up using because I adjusted my plan. I used about 24% more material than I would of if I had the present configuration in my head from the start. Still, I am having a great time adapting and adjusting and making this truck be what I want it to be, Thinking of spare tire mounting, winch mounting, load bed lighting.... I am pretty sure she will never be finished.... |
