Default Tamiya CC-01 Pajero Men in Black with interior

Hi folks, just finished this build and had a lot of fun. It's far from being perfect but why not share with you some moments of experience..

Allright - I'll skip the details about the CC-01 chassis, it's improvements and hop ups right away. I think there is enough said about it.

First some words about the body: its the former Tamiya Pajero Hardtop case in abs, what else.. A wonderful detailed shell, what a pity Tamiya changed to the lexan body in their current release. Well..

First cut out the holes for the working lights in the front and rear:

..then took the body to a professional painter for 1:1 cars. My own painting skills are horrible.. Afterwards I mounted the light buckets from Loops Model - looks promising!

.. searched on eBay for a 1:10 toy car with interior to be stripped out. I found one but however - it's not a Pajero. In fact it was a Range Rover Evoque but who cares.

..got clear windows, glued them in and started messing around with LEDs..

Its time for a first body fitting test - nice shining... . At this stage I used as tires 1.55er Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ (they are looking very scale imho), but later I swapped them with (still nice looking..) SDI Scale Doctors to gain performance.

The driver took place after he had to undergo some surgical interventions..

Now to the working lights: After trying out many p&p solutions which did not satisfy I used switching units from cti for brakes and rear light:

Normal driving with rear light:

Braking rear light:

Turn left:

..and right:

Reverse:

..and brake again:

Front lights with turning indicators as well:

And now taking it out in the woods where it belongs to

..and now best of all: a buddy of mine made a cool video of it!! Enjoy it and give him a thumbs up if you like

Any questions about the build feel free to ask - cheers Tom

Thank you. Yes, on the back side I used progressive shocks with longer travel way and soft springs. And the optional link set from GPM. On the front I used the stock shocks but with only a little oil and the springs from the back shocks. All in all the car has gained more weight due to the body mods which helps further to have a more realistic movement on the trail Cheers

Thanks . The CC-01 is its own class of fun I think. You won't go over over huge, unscale rocks and vertical downhill courses with a CC-01 chassis. It's not a competition chassis, but on moderate trails there is nothing as scale, easy and smooth running like a CC-01 with some minor modifications. The sloppy steering is a must to, and the weak and flexible rear link setup as well. New wheels with softer tires and you're ready to go

Hi friends, in the meanwhile I have mounted new rims (RC4WD Onyx 1.9 Badlocks) and tires (the stock tire from the new released MST CMX) on this Tamiya Pajero Metaltop. I think they do look much more scale..

If you like, watch the new video, I've tried to catch this rig with some nice FPV views from inside and outside...

Have fun! Cheers Tom

Nice work! Those SDI tires might be exactly what I'm looking for, to use on my Tamiya M1025 Hummer

Some updates: I changed the wheels to a slightly less diameter size (still 1.9' but the tires are from the new MST CMX which are in my eyes a quite perfect fit), modified the driver to have flexible arms and steering wheel to be turned by a micro servo behind the dash. And made a fresh video of this Pajero for you guys on my YouTube channel:
