Default Mtnbiker's Jero for days.

Since I have been getting back into RC and wanted a trail truck so I can stop abusing my Gelande cruiser so much. I thought "what model have I always wanted?" CC01 Pajero of course! Sadly I am too late to the party to get a complete kit so I picked up a new CC01 Bronco kit from the classifieds with the body removed and picked up a used Pajero body off ebay (RPP has new Pajero bodies but $$$). Nothing groundbreaking here but wanted to post to keep the CC01 section going

Ill spare the build pictures as it has been documented pretty well but one awesome thing about CC01 kits is that they come with the correct body mounts for the Pajero body!

I also used FastEddy bearings throughout which allowed me to do the bushing mod to the rear differential (locked with the option pieces in rear and extra spider gear up front)

Body came to me painted already, not too thrilled with the colors so I may repaint with the standard blue/silver scheme and ditch the antenna

Monster CC01 flex

Overall its a neat little rig, definitely needs a 55T motor and adjustments to the front suspension for travel but I'm trying to decide whether to stay stockish or long travel trail truck with TL/TA arms and hubs with GRU.

They're working fine for me.

Nice looking start you've got there, I'd go for the repaint personally.

I'm contemplating picking up a cc01 just because even if they're not amazing performers, they're great looking rigs..

Following for your impressions of its drivability..

Instead of 1-inch gru, I'd recommend a higher-turn motor to give you low-speed torque and a 3s lipo for speed when needed.

I do have a couple 55T lathe motors around I'm going to experiment with, I know with a GRU you run into battery placement issues which would mean different battery location as I still use stick packs (Lipo is not yet on the horizon for me... is still run 27mhz radios haha).

Ahh, I remember when mine was that clean

You'll like the CC-01. I didn't lock the front of mine with the extra gear, I wanted a bit of give in it in case I get into a bind so I used silly putty. One funny thing is that I like my CC-01 more than my SCX-10....

If you keep the stock front suspension, there's threads on here that show mods you can do to it to get a bit more travel and steering from it.

Took the pajero out today with the stock motor....wow that's fast and will do 4wheel burnouts on pavement. Stock esc tends to thermal overload when bashing around. It also likes to spit dogbones, going to put the o-ring at the differential to see if that helps. Looking at GPM steering and Tamiya CVD's. Proof of abuse below

Been there.....the gpm steering kit is ok......i put tamiya cvd's on and trimmed the steering stops down and got more steering ....locked the front diff with an extra gear left over after using the kit locker in the rear....truck will go anywhere

Didn't take long to see what the little guy could do on the home rock pile with stock motor and speed control.

Those stock tires are not exactly sticky...even when warmed up.

So after fumbling around for a day or so like that I decided to upgrade. Added 5 washers to each skid plate mounting location, clearanced the C-Hub for a small amount of lift, added a couple spacers to front body mount and rear shock mounts to fit 1.9 grabbers and steel beadlocks. Also threw on a new Hitec 646WP servo, an old AE-1 ESC with CC BEC. Went from a fun little rig to hands down my favorite RC ever! I also moved the dogbone o-rings to the diff side which cured my bending dogbones.

Brickiotomy, sliders, skids, steering and 4 link changes to come. I'm not much of a picture guy but this thing is too fun.

Where / how are you posting images? In Tapatalk they show up as broken links and in my Web browser it says "click for full size image" once for each shot.

The rig looks great man! I can't wait to see where you go with the thing. I'm getting my old one back from a friend here in the next little bit and plan to resurrect it for trail use.
