Hey guys, I'm new to the crawler scene, got my eye on a cc01 to test the water as they say - any advice for first upgrades to get done? Thanks Paul |

Best advice I can give is to read through the build threads. There is everything from the basic mods that everyone does to extreme builds.

Watch multiple utube videos of it crawling to see if it meets your needs. 149 r/c worx team driver |

Thanks for all replies. I know the cc01 isn't a crawler, but in some of the YouTube videos I've watched it seems to be able to do a certainly good job at basic crawling. So I've decided to stop looking and took the plunge on a cc01 with the other shell, I've also purchased an original wrangler shell for it. Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent servo/ESC for them? |

AE5 is always a good choice for a brushed truck, as for servo i would be afraid to use much more than a standard servo without upgrading some of the steering components first. | |

Ae2 esc and the stock tactic x45 Servo with the gear upgrade you can get all of that for 40 to 50 in classifieds 149 r/c worx team driver |

Skip over the Axial AE2 and AE5 and go buy the WP 1060 from HobbyWing. You can get it from HobbyWing Direct for cheaper than you'll find the Axial. For a servo I'd suggest the Solar D772. The CC-01 is an on road vehicle with off-road bodies. It takes work to get it capable off-road. |

Had my CC-01 for two years at least, it is a fantastic platform... With some annoying problems... As for things to do to make it a proper trail truck, there's a lot to do. Tires, lock the diffs, bearings, make the rear diff gear mesh tighter with a 850 bushing, steering upgrade, 4 link upgrade, 55t or 65t motor... I bought mine because i wanted a project, it was a project and it cost a lot of money to buy almost every gpm upgrade, rc4wd tires and shocks, better electronics. It was worth it to me. The truck is really fun to drive, easy to work on. It has a low center of gravity which saved me from trouble quite a few times. It's not an scx-10 but i can follow most trails without trouble. I would do it again, it was that fun Ok, except the many gpm steering kits i got were all sloppy. |
