| Bacon's Pajero
Well, I guess this is my thread for my Pajero, eh? Anywho, as of right now (like this very moment) I haven't started building it yet since I'm waiting for my bearings to arrive from Boca. So today I was thinking to myself "Self, why don't you fix the front of the truck since it bugs you?" Good idea Self, and that's what I did. It was one of my first attempts with styrene so don't expect showroom condition stuff here, or you will be sorely disappointed. Basically what I did was fill in the two slots in the grille where the wires go through for the fog lights, and I also took out the mounts for said fog lights. I also filled in the hole in the roof where the antenna wire pokes though. Now, these pictures only show styrene in there, I haven't used putty yet to smooth it out (will probably pick some up tomorrow). Still need to fill the hole from the inside as it's only a thin layer on the outside. Plans right now are to build it up and run it as is, and upgrade as I go. I would like to put a full interior in it at some point... Parts for it are as follows: 1.55 Mud Thrashers on white 1.55 steelies Axial 55t motor Axial AE-2 Axial AS-3 Servo Spektrum SR201 receiver Spektrum DX2S RRP 16t pinion 2s lipo Boca bearings |

So, unfortunately I haven't even been able to start building this yet since Boca lost my order before it even made it to the post office. And they only seemed to respond today because I made a claim on PayPal against them. They were supposed to arrive Apr.3rd. They said they were going to send a new set out today, so at least I'll have some replacement bearings since I ordered what I needed from FastEddy (which I should have done in the first place). But other than that everything else is here for it The body is also primed, and most likely getting silver shot on it tomorrow. Last edited by canadianbacon; 04-08-2014 at 05:44 PM. |

Well, you can always build the shocks to hold you over. |

True, I'll build those, along with the diffs tomorrow. The silver is shot on the body so I'll give it a couple days to dry properly, then I'll prep it for the blue.

We are releasing over 100 new Tamiya bearing kits later this week. This kit will be among them. We have released over 200 new kits in the last 2 weeks, we are on a roll...... -Ed |

Also, shocks and diffs are built. No pics since we all know what shocks and diffs look like. | |

And the paint is pretty much done, just need some touch-ups here and there, then do the black trim and black out the grille, apply the decals then seal it all in clear (except for the grille, I want that in flat and semi-gloss black). Pant colours are Testors Metallic Silver #1246 and Testors Gloss Dark Blue #1211. |

And the body is pretty much done. And I have an intercooler here from a detail kit I got for my drifter that I might try to put behind the grill, dunno yet. |

And like magic, here we are. My Fast Eddy bearings showed up yesterday, so I could finally build it. Only issue I'm having so far is the steering linkage rod that's supposed to go from the servo to the steering post wasn't included, the only one that was left is too long. So I'll be making my own link, and then ordering the steering kit, because it stock form it is fawking atrocious... Also need to put a bit of a body lift on it since the tires stuff into the fenders a bunch. Does GPM also sell a kit for 4-linking the rear? I know they sell a full kit, but all I need is the axle mounts for the lowers and shocks. Last edited by canadianbacon; 04-23-2014 at 01:00 PM. |

Is your steering servo mounted with the output close to the steering shaft or further from it? I've flipped my servo so the output shaft is further away. The original XC and newer CC chassis had the servo oriented differently, both ways work. Might work fine with your longer linkage. I forget what the directions specify, last 2 I built I didn't even crack them open. Liking the color - blue accent on the wheels looks sharp! |

The output is pointed towards the front. I'll flip it around and see if it'll help. I got confused looking at the manual since it has a throttle servo in there too. And thanks, the colour is pretty nice in person. |

Really nice looking build. I'm thinking this will be my next kit. Great color choice too. |

Thanks man. Go for it, the kits are priced great and offer lots to choose from, and it's pretty easy to build. Only thing I don't like are the ball studs, oh, how I fawking hate ball studs...

Not much of an update, but I ordered the GPM rear shock mounts, and the steering kit a couple weeks ago, and they showed up the other day. I put them on today, and from looking at the other threads with the steering kit, I think GPM updated it, since mine came with hex head cap bolts (screws?) instead of phillips hardware...

Good info, just ordered 2 steering kits. I always swapped the hardware anyway.

First things first. It should be absolutely mandatory if you own a CC-01, to get the GPM kit and to shave your C's for more steering. It actually makes it a totally different vehicle just by doing those two things. Now, onto the main attraction, or lack thereof, the pics from todays beach adventure. The beach is now closed, which means it's open... You don't have to pay to get in though like you do when it's open... I don't get it either, but I digress. Still need to cut the block down, but it didn't hinder it very much at all today. You can also see the new radiator I got for it. All it is is just an intercooler from an HPI accessory kit I picked up for my drift car Part of a buoy Hey look, a Young Mudcrab (Skyrim reference) I put a full 3800 2s through it (until I hit the LVC), the 55t motor was decently warm, but not hot. The pack lasted well over an hour. I also LOVE these tires in the sand. The truck is kinda heavy, and the wheels are weighted, but I wasn't sinking very much. The tires are fat so it gives you flotation, the tread isn't that aggressive so they don't dig holes everywhere, but it's aggressive enough so they'll clear sand with ease. The 55t is perfect for me I find, it has decent low end response, but with the gearing of the CC-01, it moves pretty good too. This is just a trail rig for me, my crawler is my SCX-10. |

| Re: Bacon's Pajero It has GPM 4 link brackets. I just used some links I had sitting around they were the same length for the lowers, the uppers are still stock for now. Thanks |
