New cc-01 owner

Just ordered the Isuzu MU kit and was wondering what recommended mods I should do immediately? Just getting back into the hobby and have this and a scx2 builders kit coming, want this as a light trail truck that would be fun to take hiking.

Steering mod is probably one of the first ones to do..
Something like these

Get rid of the rear ball suspension for something like this.

I agree with Zukiiholic for the steering. Also, replace all the plastic and bronze bushings with ball bearings. You can purchase a complete kit for the CC01...

I did my own suspension...it was easy and very cheap to do. Just need some aluminum or brass tubing and some 3mm or 4-40 threaded rod.

Here's a couple of pics of the finished suspension.

I’ll second the bearings and third the steering. As for the rear links, you can go for a little while before you need to replace them. They’ll get very rubbery and eventually the rear end will just kind of bounce around. At that point you’ll really want to firm things up.

Just an option if you’d rather space out the upgrades.
