Finally! my under drive gearbox for CC01 has been fully installed! Took less effort than expected, just redesigned the support parts for once, and replaced the rigid coupling with a new universal joint, and now everything seems right! Later I'll take the chassis for a field test and try to find if any thing not right...

At first I overrated the overall accuracy of the entire structure, and try to use a rigid coupling to connect the gearbox with the transfer case, and then the gearbox wouldn't stop wriggle...had to buy some new universal joint for the input shaft of my gearbox.
The gearbox has a reduction ratio of 1.1(19T/21T), which means the rear wheel has a 10% under drive I assume.

Awesome Idea with the rear gear reduction..
I'm building one and also having rear shock issues..
Have some custom mounts but can't get the ride height I want and the droop I want.

That's a really good idea to use the space left open from relocating the motor, good job!

Cool 4runner! I also have the issue of front ground clearance, I haven't found a CVD shaft that has enough working angle, lifting the front suspension will result in shaking of the wheel.

Anyone feel excited about the new CC02? finally!!
I love CC01, but I definitely want a evolved CC platform.
I was a little suprised at the front rigid axle of CC02, but then I realised what TAMIYA was thinking: CC02 will not be a replacement of old CC01, they will appear on shelf simultaneously.
It seems the working angle of CC02's drive shaft is better than CMX/CFX, also the battery is lower, but the gearbox seems to be too low...Anyway, I must buy one...
I even prepared the wheels for CC02, HAHA...

Mate, really enjoyed reading about your build on the cc01 and what creative ideas you have had.
Makes me won’t to get mine back out and start giving it some upgrades/updates.

I’m not to shore on the new cc02 chassis, looks a little to “boxy” to me, and I really was wishing that it to would have the ifs setup like the cc01 but with a better steering setup and steering angle.

Cool build! You have a lot of interesting features and enjoyed reading this through out. Not sure how I feel on the new CC02, but time will tell. With all the other scale kits out, I think it is outdated before its release. We will see though.
