Default Subaru Brat CC-01 Project

My first Tamiya kit was the Subaru Brat. The Brat body always remained a favourite however, the ORV chassis is not. I finally decided to pick up a Brat body and decided to fit it on top of a proper 4x4 chassis. I eventually settled on a CC-01. For wheels / Tyres I decided to stay with the Sand Blaster 915 from Brat wheel. I purchased two sets so that I could have a complete set of rears for front and back. Sent them to a friend to do some mods on his lathe.

Today I started to prep the body and test fit it on the chassis. I put some tyres on the chassis as place holders.. Everything looked good from the side, the back..until I took a look at the front. What the $#%&*$ is that giant piece of plastic in the front.. arg!!! Darn you Tamiya

Turns out the brat body doesn't cover the CC-01 Tub very well..

Thoughts?

You want to do something like this to make it fit, and honestly, they should get removed on any build with this chassis. It is a big brick that gets caught up on anything in its path.

Yeah, you gotta chop it off, it's the only way really.

Yes!! Brats are fun little rigs on the CC01 platform.

Here is my old Brat I built 10 plus years ago.

How did you attach the Brat wheels?

They were custom made for 12mm hex. Lots of drilling and cutting. Another member, Pantablo did them. I believe he did a write up in the wheels and tires section.
