| suspension and damper recomendation
I'm almost finished modernizing my CC-01 Wrangler and upgrading for steering and realism. I only have shocks left to do. And I'm stuck. I've ordered 4 different shocks from scamazon and eScam. All four sets leaked oil or had horrible build quality. I was looking around and feel this is the best option: Tamiya CC-01 Aluminum Oil Damper 4PCS. However, these are only 60mm and I need 80mm to fit my wheels/tires and provide proper aesthetics. I see these: https://www.amazon.com/GDS-Racing-Pe...ustomerReviews But I'm not sure if I'm going to have the same issues as the other 4 orders. Everything on Ebay and Amazon seem to be made by the same terrible Chinese factory that doesn't have any real quality control. Can I get recommendations on quality shocks? Preferably black, red, or gold. Edit: Is there a way to build my own to specific suspension? I see some parts like this https://www.rcmart.com/tamiya-m-chas...42134-00027910 and https://www.rcmart.com/overdose-alum...d2499-00077848. Looking for that diaphragm that goes inside and 80mm rods. I dont think you'll be able to use a 80mm shock as the front axles will bind and wont allow you to use the extra travel, it will also likely lead to breaking axle shafts. I'd recommend the Tamiya CC-01 Aluminum Oil Damper, my set measure 70mm eye to eye BTW. I'd also recommend you look for RC parts at RPP or Amain and not places like amazon or ebay. The CC01 wont have many specific parts at those places though. I'm just gonna throw this out again, dont go nuts modding this thing, if you want to go nuts on a crawler pick up a SCX10ii or and Enduro or similar. With those platforms you can really go wild modding and they will reward you with actual improved performance. The CC01 is pretty limited with how far you can take it. There's only one set made for the CC01 and they are 70mm, same as the stock shocks https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/optio...um-oil-damper/ https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/ind...comment=514987 |
