So I finally managed to free up enough spare time to actually take the TWARG out for a battery pack, and try out the new Pro-Line tires. Quick summary: WOW!!!!! Compared to the hard hard hard Tamiya stock tires, these things are like glue. They suck a suck load of suck on pavement, as their extreme grip combined with a locked rear diff just leads to scetchy handling and mucho traction rolling. But, lets be serious, why the hell would you drive one of these things on road? Off Road, these meats really start to shine. The softer rubber (enhanced more by the narowwed & cut foams) allows the rig to find traction in places where wheelspin was only previously found. I was able to drive up and onto/over smooth logs that before would hald the TWARG in its tracks. The smaller sidewalls, wjich I figured might be a bit of a disadvantage on a trail rig didn't seem to have any negative effects at all. Sharp edges would occasionally push the tire right down to the rim, but the rim did not get any damage in the 25 minutes or so of bashing I put in. I've always been extremely surprised at what these CC-01 rigs are capable of, and I gotta say, adding decent tires had made it even better. |

Good find on those tires. I have been looking for good replacement tires before I get a Touareg. Any vids of the new action?

Well, three years without a post, and I'm gonna try and resurrect this thread from the dead. The Pumpkin TWARG is still running strong, and is about to get a mild spring makeover. MOD's, any chance of having this moved to the new/proper CC-01 sub-forum? |

That looks really good. I like the paint. I have been thinking of getting another CC-01 to build as an offroad basher and not a crawler/trail truck. This thread might just push me over the edge to get another one. |
