I'll be up there some time on Thursday to start preparations and maybe do a little practicing. Anyone else going to be up on the mountain Thursday or camping that night?

Sounds good, its been in the 50's at night here north of ATL so probably a little cooler up on the mountain. Gonna be cold tonight but supposed to be warming up for this weekend.

Yeah it's been real windy here too. Freaking chunk of tree broke off and fell on the Jeep. Supposed to calm down tomorrow though I think.

I am sure this has been answered before, but I am looking for the latest ruling, since things change so often. Can I take my Tx and comp rig as a carry on on the plane. From what I can tell yes, but not 100% sure.

Yes Sir. I always take my rigs and my radio as carry on in the plane. And all the other stuff (tools, charger, batteries, a.s.o.) in the luggage. Never had any issues with that.

So I'm sure that I have my rigs for sure, all the rest can be replaced quickly if the luggage will be lost.

regards

Dani

I've never had an issue. Just be willing to talk to some TSA people about it. They ask a ton of questions, but never seem to hold you up for go cavity diving (which we all know Farmer gets mad they don't...).

One thing to keep in mind is your Lipo batteries. (They just look a suspicious item) To not draw so much so much attention try not have them ALL in the same place. I mix mine though out the contents that way they don't draw so much attention.

I'll be there sometime Thursday afternoon.

You guys make sure to bring jackets, hats and sunscreen. Cool mornings and then should warm up a bit.

They actually dont like that. It's better to have them all in one big clear platic bag in your carry on bag. They WILL pull them out and ask you about them and probably swab them, but if you make it easy for them they will usually make it easy for you.

As soon as you put your bag through the xray machine you will see the TSA officials facial expression change. thats when I usually offer the information that I am heading to a big RC car race and that has worked to lighten the mood and make the bag search relatively harmless. You will usually end up just answering a million questions about RC rock crawing lol.

Very unlikely that you will have a problem though Wes.
