Default Losi CVD Hack/Fix. TLT and Axial parts required.

Ok, I got to looking at this thing and thought, something has to be able to fit this thing.

20 mins later, I have this solution. It is VERY temporary, likely dangerous, and definitely hack, but it works.

Step 1. Get a TLT long side axle. Cut off the splined portion.

Step 2. Grind flats on each side. NOT a complete square! about 2/3 in on all 4 sides should do.

Step 3. Grind about a 1/16 off the end of an Axial stub axle. Clean up the edges.

Step 4. This is the cool part.... put the stub in your Axial knuckle and re-install. Yep, it works.

NOTE: I didn't have any TLT cvd's. This may... repeat.. may work on them. However you will need a different inner bearing for the Losi knuckle as the TLT outer shaft doesn't have a lip like the Losi does.

Do the losi's not have an outer bearing to support the axle?

Nope.

The last rig I saw that didn't have support there was the PTI.

Not going to help the dirt issue either.

Are the losi inner cvd shafts cast? I can see a draft/mold line on them.

I dont know it keeps the dirt out of the nitro engines pretty well and they had to get that turning radius somewhere, small cvds + no outer housing bearing support = tight turning radius

All my Twin/Mad Force axles and the Rock Force...no outer bearing at the axle. Never been a problem for me. Been running the same shafts for over 2 years.

I understand it would be allot better to have the outer bearings there though.

Dogbones on the RF. Might be the difference. That, and the fact they're beef as heck!

I know this a temp fix. IMO a permanent fix is the losi v3 axles. Ben running them for 6months dozens of comps and no failures. That is what the factory guys are running so they must know something.
