| I'm working on a LCC/B44/Firestorm CVD. I'm using a rear center CVD shaft from a B44, with a ASC CVD rebuild kit, and the outer CVD cup from the LCC. The other end is a dog bone. I hacked a Firestorm diff cup to fit in the worm, and cut a little bit out of the housing to clear the drive cup. The axle shaft is smaller in diameter, but the CVD part has less material cut out of it than the stock LLC. The turning angle, without binding, is almost identical to the stock set up. I'm also thinking about trying a cup shaped spring washer from a Traxxas slipper, on the LCC slipper, so I can adjust it a little. |

| I was talking to a couple people about this exact thing, using a dog bone cup at the worm gear. I wonder how it will hold |

| forgot to mention that I had to tap the pin on the dog bone to one side to get it through the inner knuckle, and then tap it back centered after it was through. |

Making some beefier CVD axles with a dogbone on one side? Last edited by EeePee; 06-01-2009 at 05:52 PM.

Eitherway, CVD still needs to be beefier.

| Add me to the list for a broken CVD shaft. Three broken pins and one shaft gone in three battery packs. Give me a good set of dog bones and I'll be happy. |

| So far, so good... Its survived the parking lot that popped my stock CVD. I've been ramming it into the curb at a 45 degree angle with the tires straight, and then I tried it with the tires turned to full deflection (I never did the WOT curb test with the stock one). |

Just bind it up. Run it towards you wide open. When it gets to your foot, step on the tire and hit the throttle.

| I managed to put a pack through it after work, as daylight started to fade I drove it like I would have driven my Axial, and it held up. |

| Comped with this set up today, at state finals. The course was man made, with broken up concrete rocks, which were great at swallowing tires. At one point, I had a front tire wedged under a big rock, turned very sharply, and I heard a nasty squealing noise, and I assumed the worst. Turns out, it was the spur/idler gear. Tore out a nice deep chunk from the gear. Took an off course repair, and finished the course with one second to spare I put a fair amount of stress on it throughout the day, and no breakage. |
