Default r2d what do ya think

Well I think I fryed my novak rooster and 18.5 motor (puff of smoke out of the esc) I'm not happy. ($200 down the drain). Anyway I was thinking of putting a r2d in with a 45t. What do you guys think? If it works ill put in a r2dd.

It's the worm drives that are adding the strain on the power plant, not the tranny. That tranny dig setup is amazing, don't go back in time. ;) You would be better off putting Axial axles on your rig to achieve what I think it is you are trying to do???

The r2d is a very low geared tranny, if you put that with the losi's 15:1 axle you will need a castle 9000kv moor and a 6 cell lipo to see it move with out using time lapse photography.

It was just a thought. I don't know what to do its not like I can just go out and buy a brushless system every time it frys. I should have spent my money on a burg.

You can send your ESC to Novak and they will give you a new one for $50. So at least it's not a total loss.

imo i like the losi trany since you only need one link to set it up and it doesnt need a strong servo. the r2d2 is way to much of a pain to even set up. i run a r2d in my tlt and a 645 still cant get it to shift most of the time when the back tires are in a bind
