Default Sick and tired of breaking CVD's step in here....

Myself being sick and tired of breaking those damn CVD's even with the EPA's turn'd way way down decided to start doing some vestigating and building. Quick stop into Brians Hobbyland and I got me the stuff I needed to start constructing my own dog bones. I ended up cutting a Duratrax Warhammer dogbone and shaped the end to a square. I then cut down a Axial Ax10 drive cup way down, pulled a bearing out of the knuckle to get the axial cup to fit, and buttoned it all back up. 2 hours later of hard running and it hasn't broken the other CVD thats in the front yet.

Cliff Notes-
Made 1 dogbone
No more broken CVDs
Dogbone physically limits how much the wheels can turn thus causing them to not break the CVD's
1 CVD still on, no problems yet

Special thanks to Brian @ brianshobbyland.net for bearing with me while I was jerking around with this thing. Ill try to get some pictures tomorrow if I can, or if demand is high enough tonight Ill go get some taken now.

I wish it would have just come with Dog bones, I prefer them in my axial, I'll give up some turning radius to avoid CVD's breaking.

Keep in mind guys that the replacements I sent out last week I couldn't guarantee that they would be any better. It seems to be hit and miss. In the mean time I'm working on parts that I know will be better and should have them really soon. "All hands are on deck" to resolve this. In the mean time, if you break and axle, shoot me a PM, email rtrujillo@losi.com or you can call our CS guy at 909-390-9595

Thanks for your patience, we'll get this right and hopefully you get to see what this rig can really do.

Don't have the funds yet but with this kind of customer service Losi 2.2 is my next purchase. It will be my first "new" rig. Then the Losi 8ight rtr buggy will be my next. Good Job!

This makes me feel alot better about buying an LCC. I havn't had the time to get mine up and running yet, but it is good to know that I will be taken care of if I have a problem with it.

I broke a CVD a couple days ago, and sent a PM late at night. Rich responded about 10 minutes. New one is is on it's way . Not being the one to wait, I stopped by the LHS and picked up a replacement only to have that one crap out on me today. Is it coincidence that the left side keeps on breaking? I hope this breaking CVD trend comes to a halt, really quick like.

What does that mean for all of us with trucks that came with potentiallly defective parts? Are we just going to have to wait 'til something breaks? Are these parts going to be offered to all owners to pre-empt potential breakage?

Why don't you e-mail him and find out?

I sent Rich an e-mail. Asked if I could get some spares so if I broke I would have some with me & not have to wait. Well, you know what he did? He sent me some of the new ones.

Great guy, all you have to do is ask.
