| Just wondering if Losi is actually addressing their motor overheating problem. They had to have known people were going to drop brushed motors in these rollers (hello crawlers still used brushed). I bought my brushed Holmes motor way back but am afraid to put it in the crawler, good way to trash a brand new handwound. |

| I don't think it's "their" issue. The Losi build book recommends which motor setup works best for the truck. This is what it's designed for. |

| you mean to tell me that these guys thought everyone would shell out the coin for brushless. I'll have to go over the manuel again but didn't recall reading that you could not used a brushed motor, maybe I missed it. I see in the diagrams a brushless is used but that is not a warning saying not to use a brushed motor in my eyes. Rich has been doing a great job and hopefully is actully on this problem because I think it is their problem, sorry Losi. Did the Losi testers experience the overheating issues like the guys on this site, if I recall they did test a few brushed motors? If over heating did occur was it this bad? | If this is the case maybe Losi should take the Novak brushed products off of their site in the "how to properly equip your Losi 1/10th scale comp crawler" |

| Not sure what you are so upset about. These trucks can and do run on brushed motors. You are not going to get the same runtime as in other vehichles but the brushed motors I have installed into two of them have been good. Both are Integy 35 turns. One is a V11 and the other is the standard $17.00 one. One has a 14t pinion while the other has a 15t pinion ( only had 1 of each). My truck is getting 20-25 min of running on a 3 cell 1100 MaxAmps battery. No heat issue what so ever. As a matter of fact the motor doesn't start to get warm to the touch until right at the 20 min mark. My friend has a 3 cell 1300 or 1350 in his and with the 14 pinion his motor doesn't even get warm. Niether of us have had insane wheelspeed in our other rigs. Both our Losi's have the same or better wheelspeed than our other rigs. Last edited by tqcookie; 06-08-2009 at 08:32 AM. |
