Default Rear DIG

Does anyone Have a problem with the rear DIG partially engaging or not engaging at all even when the actuator is fully extended?

As far as I know the dig has been working for everyone. Motor issues seem to peoples biggest problems. The two Losi's I have used have been flawless as far as the dig working.

Yes I have had this problem. I could not even get it to work by using my hand and pulling as hard as I could. I took the transmission apart and did not find anything that was causing it. I lubed everything up and put it back together and got it to work. I am now using a losi Mini Rock crawler servo to get it to work. It works 19 out of 20 times now but is still not 100%. I do not know what I did when I took it apart tht fixed it but it works now. serial number 529

My rear dig would not engage fully.

After taking apart the transmission I finally noticed that one of the E clips on the shift fork wasn't completely seated. After snapping it in completely, the dig operated as advertised.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, that is what I'm suspecting or there may be a burr or something blocking it. It sounds like it wants to go but can't. Of course it's a built roller so even if you take it apart you may not recognize the cause of the problem.

I had the problem too, sent this to Rich...

"Do you want to hear about the DIG shift fork snap-ring sticking the the tranny case boss/recess (front axle locked)? "

He said "I just looked at that recess area for the shift fork and it appears that something moved or is not centered correctly with the insert they use for the mold. It looks like the hole is off center. For now reaming it with an Xacto should be fine but I’ll address that one too with our vendor. This is one we never encountered and based on our QC reports the parts we approved were not like this…just another one of those little things that can change during production."

I opened up the pocket with a piloted 9/32" end mill. My snap-ring was on OK but would hang-up in the pocket unless rotated just-so. Since opening up the pocket, no problems. I also polished the square shaft the DIG plates ride on and put a very small amount of Assoc. Green Slime on the shaft, can't say if it makes a difference but it's very smooth.

Spoke to Rich, what a nice guy, and he tried to help me over the phone. He even offered to hae the truck sent to him to rebuild. The good news is that it was the "e" clip that holds the fork to disconnect the front. It was slightly bent but out of the groove. I replaced it and at the same time performed some of the things he mentioned earlier. Put it all together and it shifts almost effortlessly.

Now if only my little servo hadn't gone south but again Rich to the rescue and I'm getting another servo (the inexpensive Losi one).

I like good customer service.

Glad that was the issue and it is solved. I am using the cheapest JR Sport servo and it is certainly enough to do that job. The inexpensive Losi one will be fine. (Hell, they may be the same internally!)

What Hitec? I'm hoping to use my spare Futaba 9650 and need a size comparison.

Thanks.
