before i get losi i have rf2.2. (setting hispeed wormgear moter55T ) when i get losi i move all EP. to losi comp motor hot it happen i think because center gearbaox of losi very low ratio(around2.6) rf 2.2 center gearbaox ratio is86/19=4.5 some body know how abount ax10 gearbox ratio (i don't know because just build ax10+r2) what you think about this |

I ont think its so much the trans ratio as it is the worm gears. It takes alot more work for worms to move the truck. Where as a standard bevel gear rotates freely.

its the worm gears because they create so much friction it puts more stress on the tranny making it all hot

Well it's easy to test, just swap in a different tranney.

Why wouldn't any other trans work? You would just be going slower. Motor temp would definately drop.

Of course other trannys would work...LOL See the problem is Misinformation. I'd like to see a Kyosho RF setup in there or a PTI maybe, just to see how much work the tranney is adding to the motor itself. |

the Axial have an overall ratio that can be adjusted from 15:1 all the way up to 74:1 using different pinion/spur gears. The center mounted transmission have 1:2,6. If you use stock pinion/spur the reduction overall is 1:47. On the RF you use 86 spur and 19 pinion (i=1:4.5) and the high speed worms (i=1:15) thats overall i=1:67.5. Your 55 T is getting hot with this combo I think. I run a 21.5 T brushless and overall reduction of 1:100 and this works very good. Take a look on Losis manual - different reduction examples and recommandations. regards Juergen
