I'm up for some after work practice next week. I usually have my crawler in my truck anyways. I'll give you a call at work. So, did you do a drive thru the lot on your way to work the other day? I haven't been down there for a few months, have the weeds overgrown all the rocks? I'm sure we could find somewhere to go.

I saw your dig servo mount in EeePee's thread. When you engage your front or rear dig does your tranny move back and forth a little? I mean, like 1mm or so.

The new servo mount looks really nice. Exactly the same idea as I had, except I would like to make mine a bolt together mount so I can get the servo a little lower and lined up a little better. Nice job.

I didn't like your first one, I'll admit it. But the second one is it! That's (damn near) perfect! |

yeah the first was a 'will this work' the night before a point series first comp what do you think would make it better? or change if it was yours? Last edited by Robbob; 01-10-2010 at 08:48 AM.

Yeah, I hear you. I was thinking just a touch lower, maybe 1/8" at most, just enough to get the linkage straight, but it might not work. I have a comp today, so I didn't change mine from the original yet. It works well as it is. After the comp I will work on trying to move it around some.

Yeah little lower, which could be achieved with spacers between the servo and your plate, or with some machining time I guess. Anything to get the straightest shot possible. The collar on the linkage is already adding a side load being so tall. The other one is your servo horn should be perpendicular to the linkage when in 4 wheel drive. And now I'm wondering if there's a low profile mini servo. And does your truck stretch passed 12.5" with those spacers? Is that why you asked me? |

yeah im thinking maybe a nice delrin piece made and milled down in the middle section to help get the horn lower (think SWX skid plate). On my way up to the LHS to get some different ball ends to try and straighten the link out. http://www.losipartshouse.com/servle...MG-cln-/Detail 47oz @6v enough? Yeah that was why. I stretched past 12.5 with the front spacers on so I took them off but left the rears. with the 20mm limiters I hit right about the 12 3/8 mark now.

hmmmmm the plot thickens I've seen a few guys running micro sized servos with good results. It really shouldn't take a lot of torque to operate the losi dig. |

More or less exactly what I was thinking. Make two will ya? Really. I don't know what's required to shift. I notice most mini servos are 30 mm tall. Micro servos are 20-25 mm tall. Ten mm is a lot. 6 mm isn't bad. HiTec 65MG Height: 0.94" (24mm) 30.55 oz-in (2.2 kg-cm) @ 6V The Losi servo I use has 56 ounces and is 30 mm tall I believe, as is your 5245 HiTec.

small things ..... listening to it be mentioned about the dig springs figured id take a picture to show the stretch Very little of the notorious clicking noise now when you shift while low to mid throttle for me. Solid shifts. also got a new mount for the dig servo yesterday mounted and drive line clearance right tire up left tire up i mounted it both ways to see how the link would work with the servo mounted either way horn farthest back - long link horn forward - short link everything fit well and the machining is very clean, the drive line clearance does look tight but there is clearance on articulation. i think the servo could be a bit more to the right, not much maybe 1mm more just to be sure it clears on rigs with no shock limiters and full articulation. i used a brand new ball mount on the tranny side, mine had become rounded out and abused. with the link hooked up and factory ball ends and horns the link has an angle to the right still. where as the long link doesnt possibly moving the servo over that little bit more will help with this also. for RCBros.com jumping on this to and bringing to LCC owners. |

Very cool idea, and very nicely done. I vote for a delrin option. |

Nice! Exactly what I was thinking! The long arm position is where it's at!
