Big update so Id recommend a Sandwich and beer or soda what ever your delight I got excited when I first saw rob_b bring CDW to the Losi, they have brought with them some great things for crawlers. After seeing his dig mount and reading how it was mounted in the front I jumped at the chance to try it out. I got in touch with rob_b and he sent me some prototype elephant ears. After playing around a bit with the proto pieces I came home today from my LHS to a nice surprise. What better way to start off a vacation then to find this on your porch. So heres my rig in full running condition after my last weight loss. Overall Front axle Rear axle First I will make note of one mod you need to do to the servo ..... Notice the wires coming out the side Leaving them there it rubs on the prop shaft This was a simple fix .... I took the back cover off and brought the wires simply to the other side and screwed the back on. I started with the shock tower mounts. Out with the old ....... And in with the new ....... Now I had to make some new braces ..... Old New ..... a little gain but for the difference in spacer weight lost and brace weight gained, I was still on the saving side. Then it was onto the servo/battery/servo guard mount ...... back to the Losi aluminum mounts with some delrin standoffs for the guard mount Drilled perfectly for my JR9100 servo Now with the trans out I wanted to run a level link. Using a 0.500 high ball stud it helps bring the link level again. After a test fit into the shift forks I used a small piece of fuel tubing to help take on some side to side movement. And having the fork built in helped me get rid of my styrene piece |

So now I got the tranny in place and link lined up The link isnt perfectly straight in line but rob_b pointed something out from Losi that may be the fix to that. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=LOSA6009 Some lower profile ball studs that use a 4-40 screw ...... ordered today Onto the rear .... well what there is for rear stuff now lol. I didnt use the spacers in the rear since I was already light and setup with out any spacers from my last diet. Just a little comparison now too of what I was running for a battery on the rear axle to what Im able to run now on the Front axle |

So after a few hours of snap and shoots while building I got it all back together ...... Its close but plenty of room ...... And some weights ...... Overall Front Rear So we went from 1295g down to 1254g overall ........ front went from 647g to 721g and an overweight rear went from 659g all the way down to 544g with a drop and run weight of Cant wait to get this out for some practice and see how a better balanced rig performs. Again want to say thanks to rob_b for the chance to test for him and big kudos for bringing CDW to the Losi users. |

Looks great! Major weight shift you got there, going to pull some out of the front wheels to keep the balance where you had it?

I really like what you have done with your truck. I will be incorporating some similar changes to my truck over the next few days. |

Hey Rob, I noticed you are using (some other guys as well) 3S Lipos. Is that because you need wheel spin? If so, Y not use a 2S Lipo and 13.5..... 2s is lighter and afaik 13.5 is lighter than 18.5 (can you check the weights) also weight changes between manufacturers (LRP style is the lightest I believe they are shorter and you can find ligthened parts for it as well) I rotated my axles so the front is in the back so the motor looks forward . weight bias to the front. this allowed me to put the ESC very close to the motor hence almost no wiring which means less weight (more wire = more copper) below picture is my old wiring. in the new one the Servo sits in front of ESC and I am tring to find a way to cram the battery in between |

I did get a pack through it yesterday on my wife and I's anniversary ...... she brought her camera she loves so I brought my rig lol ..... But anyway .... just the little run I had I could feel the difference. Side hill felt much better, with the rear being so much lighter now it feels like it just floats. I liked the feel when I had a bit more weight back there but I suffered on my climbs and bump and runs up and over things. Gonna get out today and take some shots with actual gates like a real practice and see how it gos. Thanks for looking. | ||
