Painted up my Losi body today and it pretty much named itself.

Wanted to swap my electronics out of my CR-01 into it but ran into some issues.

Plan A:
55t Integy
10t pinion
Mamba Max
Thunder Power 3s 2070 Lipo
HiTec 5995tg
Spektrum 3.0

Plan B:
550 titan
14t pinion
HiTec HS 225mg (dig)

If the money was there I'd change more. The main issue right now is the battery being too big for the stock tray. By removing the front cross brace and modifying or replacing the tray I may be able to get it to fit.

That is exactly how I run my battery. I am making a new delrin mount for it so I can put the front of the battery a little lower. Nice paint job. I suck at paint, so I am trying which single color to paint it :?.

Thanks, I'm interested to see how you make your mount.

Why don't you just remove the batt tray and put the battery on the front upper links with a lexan tray....old school. This will lower your center of gravity and allow you to use the battery.

Good idea, still won't fit though.

Got to run it a little today. Did just fine with a 45t and 12t pinion. Still need to mount the battery correctly and hook up the dig servo but I just had to run it anyway. Leaky shock was all I ran into.

Went out to my booty fab shop and made up a bracket to mount the lipo I had on hand. Raises the COG some but the bracket is actually lighter than the stock one. Will work till I have funds to replace it with one with the correct dimensions.

It's on the charger now so I should be able to test it out soon. Hooked up the dig last night as well. Still using the DX3.0 with the AUX channel endpoints set to 37 and zero. F/r dig work great with servo reversing. Probably helps that the servo is MG.

Wiring is a mess, may tidy it up once the set up is dialed.

First test run blew a CVD and let some smoke outta the motor, YAY!

CVDs should be in the mail from Rich, already have a Titan 550 to go in. Going back for some 3 wheel motion once it's off the charger! Dig is working good so far, starting to run into what may be slipper issues, we'll see.

Does pretty good in 3wd. Made all the lines my CR-01 would do in 4wd and then some. Hope those CVDs get here soon.

CVDs came this morning, thanks Rich!

Fixed a leaky shock, added 2.5oz to the front wheels and cut a groove in the center of the front foams. Worked better until I started having some slipper issues. Then it took a decent spill into a hole and screwed something up. Some weird noises from the tranny and it will barely move it's slipping so bad. Time for another tear down I guess.

Tore into it some. Apparently most of the noise in the tranny is from the spur gear which now has a section of somewhat deformed teeth. Not sure why, mesh was good. Tightened up the slipper and it's working fine , just noisy.

Limited the suspension some with fuel tubing, there's still too much flex though. Swapped in the Traxxas 550. Pretty fun but the run times are about 1/2 what I was getting with the 45t, unfortunately that motor was prone to hanging brushes and gave me nothing but trouble though I definitely preferred it. I may try another 45t from a better manufacturer than Integy.

Broke another CV ( 2nd gen ) though I wasn't that surprised that it went. Let my buddy drive it and he went full throttle, full lock into an undercut. Snap!

When this thing is working it's a blast and makes some insane lines. I can tell it has even more potential if I can get it set up right.

Any suggestions for a quality 45t to try? I'm thinking maybe Axiom.

Ordered a 40t Warrior. Don't think the grub was hitting as I double checked to make sure it wasn't.

Broke another CV, that makes 3, 2 of the old style and 1 of the new. Good thing I had spares on hand. Replaced it and went out and stripped the idler completely. Once the parts arrive I'm going to switch to a 13t pinion to see if it helps the mesh some.

Some video from today.

I've crawled it before but it's tricky plus this way's more fun!

Warrior finally came in. Jarod was out of 40ts so I went with a 35t. Need to do a tear down and get it back to the rocks for some more carnage.

Your gonna like your Warrior I've been running one for over a year and it's so smooth, torquey and with a 17 tooth pinion enough wheel speed for me. The new ones are supposed to be a little better too. Be sure to post up how it runs with the Losi axles mine gets a little hot running Axial axles I'm curious.

Nice paint looks very good.
