I ran my same setup from the last few comps, except I lowered my front shock arms to give the rig a little bit more belly clearance. I left the rears in the stock location.

Here's my spec sheet

Front Suspension:

Upper Links: Top hole

Shock Arm: Bottom hole (C)

Shock Mount: Bottom hole (1)

Shock Oil: Losi 50wt.

Piston: Red #56 http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=LOSA5046

Internal Limiters: none

External Limiters: 15mm

Springs: Losi Gold http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=LOSA5144

Rear Suspension
Upper Links: Bottom hole

Shock Arm: Center hole (B)

Shock Mount: Middle hole (3)

Shock Oil: Losi 45wt.

Piston: Red #56 http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=LOSA5046

Internal Limiters: none

External Limiters: 12mm

Springs: Losi Gold http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=LOSA5144

You running the shocks right side up? Only the rear is still out boarded? You
put heaver wt. upfront because the shocks are closer in?

I don't want to speak for Jake, but usually a little heavier up front to compensate for the weight difference between the front and rear. Heavier oil up front with the same pistons will keep the feel about the same with the extra weight of the front wheels and the forward weight bias. At least that is my guess and what I usually do.

Thats what I figured...But when the front not out boarded its going to flex easy
left to right. You would think maybe even a heavier weight or stiffer spring
would be needed....But Jake is the pro....Just wanted to hear his thoughts on it.

I have the 45/50wt. on my desk with all the gold springs and the #56 Pistons in
mail....So trying to get as much info before I build them...

Jake did you ever get to weight your rig??? I would love to know...I'm about 6lb,
a little over with my heavy rim setup...

My thought on the oil. If you run stiffer oil in the front then it will unload or rebound slower on climbs. Also it should compress slower on down hills. I don't think it has alot to do with outboarding the rear shocks. Right now I'm using 30 weight all the way around because it is to cold to run much stiffer here. As soon as it warms up I'm going to see if running the heavier oil will help the front end some. Just my 2 cents.

I went with the heavier front oil to slow everything down and keep the front from unloading on sidehills. If you were to grab my rig and flex each end, the rear actually feels stiffer due to the outboarded shocks and the shock position. My front shocks are mounted in the lowest position (1), and my rear shocks are in the middle (3). With this combination, both axles work together throughout their travel, keeping the chassis pretty stable.

EDIT:
My front shocks are mounted upside down, and it works great. I still have the rears mounted right side up because since they are outboarded, they would bind at full flex.

I haven't had a chance to weigh my rig lately. I don't have a good scale here any more but I will try to track one down soon. I'm pretty curious too

I got a scale at Walmart in the dish section...Does g,oz,kg,lb's, Goes up to
10lb's. Was cheap also....Like $15 I think...Works great, highly recommend
it....its small, but put your LiPo in, body with clips to get full weight and flip it on
its lid.

Great Job Jake!

That one course killed me! As soon as I bobbled, that was it. Just got too nervous.

Yes, I was hoping those holes were going to swallow your rig. You drove your ass off though and didnt let it happen. I put as much pressure on you as I could. :-P

Cant wait to crawl with you again Jake, your a top class driver.

Ok Jake.

I have read this entire thread about 20 times Ordering my LCC tomorrow.
Getting xcelorin system mid March, but my wife won't let me grow a beard. I am still awe struck at your performance at motorama

Great to have met you and can't wait to get my butt kicked at Motorama 2011

Tons of good info and pics in this thread, thanks Jake. BTW you can get scales at Harbor Freight for a decent price.

Congrats man!!!

I take it you moved the front shock arms to help the front end droop out? Or am I looking at it backwards here?

Hope to see ya out at the AWCC, if not sooner

Exactly. There weren't any huge breakovers at Motorama, there were a few decent ones. Since the rock was so slick in places, I couldn't get enough traction to jump over ledges with the low belly height.

Are you going to try a Delrin skid?
