Default Comp Updates!

We held our 2009 Southern California Regional Shootout over the weekend to decide who gets to advance to the Nationals later this year. The top 5 drivers from Socalrcrc and SDRCRC had to battle it out with only the top 2 drivers advancing. This comp featured the best of the best in Southern Cali...

The comp took place at Corona Del Mar State beach in supposedly sunny Orange County... except temperatures were in the low 60's and a light rain was falling all morning The rocks were extremely slick and the courses would have been insane in dry conditions! The course designers from Socalrcrc and SDRCRC really wanted to challenge us and all of the drivers had to step up to have a chance.

I managed to put my Losi in 1st place with a score of 74 points for the day! The first 3 courses were built on wet sandstone, and traction was hard to find. My Comp Claws were hooking up great though, and I managed to put myself in the lead early on.

The competition was fierce though, Proline driver Mike Johnson and Midwest 2.2 Challenge winner Nabil Jamali were only a few points off my pace though 3 courses. The pressure was on and one mistake could put me out of contention.

Entering the last course, I had a slim 6 point lead over the competition. The last course had been built on some weathered, coral-like rock that had incredible traction. It was my chance to show was the Losi was capable of... I pulled off a near perfect run, and finished the course with 2:22 left on the clock. This wrapped up 1st place and my spot in the 2009 Nationals!!

Up next for me is the Axial West Coast Challenge at Donner Ski Ranch. I'm heading into this event with a ton of confidence and rig that can do anything... I'll be rocking the 022 sticker in memory of my father and putting on one hell of a show in his honor.

-Jake

Great comp report! I love reading about "battles" to the finish. Glad to hear the the LCC is working well for you. Is there a big difference going from the stock steering parts to the aluminum ones? Best of luck in Donner at the West Coast comp!

Thanks!

I never had any problems with the stock steering parts, but the aluminum ones are bulletproof. My steering feels smoother, and they look pretty cool too

Sweet video I like the use of front and rear dig to get around the gate. Congats on the win. I hope mine will perform just as well.

The ESC is a Losi Xcelorin Sensored system.

At LHS we looked up the part#'s for the Crawler 21.5, #wasn't legit ? Straight from his Dealer catalog. . . usually they will list .01 when they aren't yet available- weird. I'll keep my fingers crossed till August.
