Default Gear Pitch

Hi folks, I have looked around this fine forum trying to find a direct answer to my question, but alas have not found the question asked as of yet.
I"m new to this crawler thing, but many years in rc, and most with nitro stuff..
I'm trying to find what pitch pinion gears I need to purchase for whatever motor combo I settle upon when the money tree blooms again??
I believe I saw 48 pitch mentioned somewhere, but then again I also believe I read some metric pitch also..
Just want to be certain before I again go order or purchase something I cannot use for that project..
Really surprised that it is not mentioned within the manual somewhere also..
Thanks for any help..
