Default LCC vs LNC

Well I've been considering getting a new comp crawler and was looking at the LCC or a rc4wd bully setup. I didn't really like the problems with the worm gears but last night I drove the losi night crawler and that thing went pretty much everywhere I pointed it! The guy was sayin he thinks its the tranny in the LCC is what gives it problems. So I was instantly in love with the LNC but would like dig so I'm wondering what all of your oppinions are between the two Losi's or if I should just build a moa rig.

Get the LCC. I'm not sure where he's getting his information but there have been very few reported issues with the LCC tranny.

I think he was talking about the low run times and motors burning up, he said the night crawler seems spin more "freely" I guess than the LCC. I didn't remember everything he said but I know he had both and likes the night crawler more

Well, if you like the night crawler, might as well get the LCC. Night Crawler is the RTR version of the LCC. And if you want dig ability later, it's already installed.

The low run times and the motors burning up have nothing to do with the transmission. The LNC and the LCC both have worm gear axles and worms are much more inefficient than your normal crawler gearing. It takes a lot more motor to move these things, LCC or LNC. The inefficiency also contributes to lower run times.

Neither will spin freely, the worm gears act as a natural drag brake. Let off on the gas and it will stop. Period. And that's both of them.

I was just guessing maybe the different ratios of the tranny's caused it or something.. so I guess the trans is the only real big difference huh?
