Default 1" wide STOCK LCC wheels

I love my stock wheels. Very light and cheap. The only thing I have been fighting with them is the width. I wanted them to be a bit narrower. I did not want to go with an aftermarket wheel for the weight gain.

I took a look at it and found that I could take off .080 from each side of the wheel reducing these to a .975 wheel. Perfect. The only questionable thing is that I only felt safe taking the bead channel from a .125 deep recess to a .100 recess. I will see if the bead still holds, I think it will be fine.

Also, I lost another 3g from the wheels. The picture taken was with the hex in it also. I forgot it was in there but its in both the before and after.

Just preference.

If you look at the mounted pictures of the one that is narrowed vs. the stock width, you will see the narrow wheel makes the tire a bit taller and skinnier. I didnt mind the stock width that much when I ran Rovers but with the Boss claws or Sedonas it really bothers me.

What is the weight of the complete stock wheel? Rim, rings and screws?

Stock LCC (AL beadlock ring) = 1.6oz

Stock LNC (plastic beadlock ring) = 1.3oz

Wheels above (narrow LNC) = 1.2oz

Lovin the narrow rim. do you star cut foam or let it fill out the rounded tire?

I like the skinny stock wheels myself also. I took my fronts all the way down to a .5 and run 3/4 in in the rear. The wheels are light and look okay so I figured why change them. I didn't like the wider profile for my tuck and tires.
I cut my rings off the back and removed my material out of the center. I epoxied them back together and upped the face screws to 4/40. I run 3 long 6/32 screws through the back ring to make sure the wheel can never split on me. Not much room left for weight inside so I run it on the face and back inside the wheel.

I like it to fill out the tire. I feel it gives a bit stiffer of a sidewall. Making it taller sometimes makes the foam too short though and you might need to add some up top. I didnt feel this way with these but I did when I went from my standard width DH wheels (1.3 wide"??) to .700 wide.

I like the fact that you're removing weight from the wheels and at the same time adding it to the knuckes...someday, rigs with wheel weights will be looked at as OLD SCHOOL!

Thats roughly the plan.... take all the weight out everywhere and add it in under the axle close to the wheel.
