| LCC Dig servo burning up
Ok I have gone thru 2 dig servos so far. 1 JR mini and 1 HiTech mini. both had the limits set to just push or pull the dig linkage just enough to lock it. and still after a little bit of use they are giving up. anyone have any ideas? thank you Ron |

Mmmm ??? I cooked 2 HS-65-HB mini servos . Now I am running a cheap mini E-Flight servo I stole out of my Blade 400 Heli. Maybe it couldn't handle the volts or it didn't like the setting you selected on what speed you run your servos at in your radio. One other thing always center the servo before you turn off the crawler, that way when you turn it back on it wont start trying to move the servo into dig position right away. Sorry to hear you burned one up,Hope ya get it figured out before you cook a second one.

the Servo specs rate them for 6V and I always turn off the radio/ESC in the centered position 4WD, I have spent alot of time adjusting the END Points , guess I will try a 3rd and see what happens

Put the car in dig (either way) and if you can hear the servo buzzing it does not have the EPA's set right. Reduce the EPA's until it does not buzz in either direction.

| X2 exactly. Look for that death buzz. You can think everything is perfect and centered and epas correct but it can still be just enough out to cause headaches. Also the shaft and hole it goes into can wear and cause a slight misalignment that will create the buzz. When they died what was the temp of them right after they stopped? Also if you run brushless with a fan you wont be able to hear the buzz over the fan. Although less than likely the frame rates between controller and servos could be wrong. Does the dig operate smooth by hand when the servo is disconnected?

I didn't hear any buzzing but could be. I didn't have a temp gun on me when it died today but it was warm. it will turn one way but not back to center or front dig. as far as the aligment it works smoth by hand but I don't like the way the mini servo pulls upwards when it operates. I think I need to move the servo off the top and move it out back by the driveline so it pulls straight forward and backwards. Quote:

Alignment of the push rod should be spot on {lined up straight} . You may have a little binding going on or maybe the arm is hitting the motor. Mine was rubbing and I didn't know it. Cooked 2 before I figured that out. I have such a small servo the stock arms that came it the kit don't fit. I had to customize the entire Dig mounting hardware to make mine work . Now it is working prefect with a # EFL-RDS-75-H E-Flight servo. Very small and very cheap. I'll replace it with a better one when I get to the LHS to pick one up. But for now it works fine . Frame rate and Voltage may be not playing well together with the servo you are using. I would try a different brand or model number. Good luck I hope ya figure it out. Dig is awesome once you get it working good.
