| weird suspension problem after flipping shocks
last night i out boarded my rear shocks , wile i was at it i flipped my shocks upside down . now the funny part .. the rear acts fine and springs back up when pushed down .. but the front will stay down if i push the frame down .. i tried laying down the shocks , standing them up... how would changing the rear shocks around cause the front not to want to spring back ?? as far as i can see nothing is binding in the rear .. hummm |

The other thing to check is the mounting point on the axle. When you flip them you have to grind that a bit so the flat on the shock will piviot freely. I dont think that youd effect the front if you didnt flip them, but it might.

Its probably the angle created at the bottom (now top) of the shock. try spacing that out a bit more and see if it frees it up. Heres my angles with no binding. I actually moved my shock arms out farther so I didnt have to run such a big spacer at the shock. Definately check the axle side too ......... just a bit of plastic binds it up also. |

I run my fronts outboarded as well and they rub, but they have on every other rig I've ever built to... A lot of it is taken out when limiting up travel on the shock shaft.

Flipping the shocks lower CG a touch. Outboarding adds stability by changing the wheel rate. Springs will be just a bit firmer once the shock is outboarded.

The rig for me feels more predictable when speed is needed and navigating the little things. When it comes time to side hill or twist the rig off camber it feels to balance out and settle down easier.

One more thing you can do is buy the shock mount spacers from rob_b or DIY. Basicly you move the mount out further reducing the angle of your shocks from axle to chassis. rather than this / \ you have something more like this

seams that the rear was binding a bit , not allowing the front to work correctly
