HD worms binding need help

i just installed hd worms front and back. The back worms seem to be fine smooth operation all the way through the spool cycle but the front seem to be binding at one point but some if u reverse it it seems to free itself up then a couple revolutions later it binds again. i installed all the shims according to the instructions and there was no unusual play anywhere!! any suggestions??

i installed the smaller shims on the spool and it seemed to help alot, just barley feel binding now but there is a small amount of play in the spool side to side is this bad:?:

I had a bad spool/worm straight from the package. Lodi sent replacement, took a while though. Contact them

you want some side to side play on the spools, but not much. when i got mine only one axle would bind in a spot, so it took it back apart and the was a small metal burr from machining sitting in it and once i got it out they both ran smooth.

I had one set do the same. Took a small file to the spool teeth for the high spots, nothing real heavy. Ran the axle on my drill press for about half hour and recleaned.

Works smooth now.

I had the same issue, I just ran them lightly for a pack. Checked and regreased them and no issues."thumbsup"

ya i ended up running them. i accually put two skinny shims on one side of the spool and one on the other and pretty much got rid of all the binding. not sure if it will affect longevity but ohwell:ror:
