I sorta lost track of this thread :lmao: but it is working now! I installed a Novak 3 amp High Voltage BEC putting out 6 volts to power my reciever and dig servo. Also I am using a 7.2v 4.5 amp (Off Brand) BEC connected directly to the servo power wires. On the motor I have a 15t pinion. I also bought some Zippy Rhino 3s 1350 mah 30c. Here is a video of it running around ;-)

Re: Comp Crawler Build!

looking good "thumbsup" only thing i would fiddle with is the wiring, but i'm a bit of a nut with that lol. like the paint on the body too, how did you do that, just masks or something else?

Re: Comp Crawler Build!

Re: Comp Crawler Build!

 I installed a LCG dig servo mount, graphite shock arms in the rear and greased the axles. I have been playing around with the suspension too and now fine tuning it. The esc had to be moved to the rear axle to make room for the dig servo. I cleaned and greased the axles and after I ran them I repacked them for the next comp. I like Lucas products in my 1/1 rigs so the axles have Lucas red n tacky in them. I took it out today and did some awsome lines! This thing is very impressive now:shock:

Re: Comp Crawler Build!

how do yo like the 21.5t motor? i have a 18.5t to put in mine, but was wondering about wheelspeed.

Tgreer 03-05-2012 08:24 PM

Re: Comp Crawler Build!

21.5 is pull your hair out slow, 18.5 is slow, and 13.5 is much better, but I'm thinking about a 10.5 ballistic! I started with a 21.5 and thought it was just fine until I built my berg and started to get whooped by the ax10 rigs against my losi, then changed to a 13.5 and wished I had done that over a year ago! Great rig, by the way!

Re: Comp Crawler Build!

I must be a slow driver :ror: I love the 21.5t and haven't really found a time I felt too slow. :) The other day though when I hit the throttle I had terrible glitchyness so I shut the esc down and turned it back on with no problems. I hope the Goat doesn't give out soon. Thanks for the complement :)

Re: Comp Crawler Build!

I not knocken anything, I drove 21.5t just fine for a long time! It really just comes down to the driver and his or her style of driving!"thumbsup"

Re: Comp Crawler Build!

How do you like running the 2 different tires? Same size or? I thought about doing this to mine to over drive the front.

TheREDCAT 03-06-2012 11:57 AM

Re: Comp Crawler Build!

These tires are so close in size that I haven't noticed a difference. I mainly did it for traction reasons :)

Re: Comp Crawler Build!

just a little observational input here. the xt60 to deans adapter is one of those things that i'm not a fan of...they are both decent plugs, but it would be better if you chose one or the other. then there's wiring...its way easier at the very least if you push for cleaner wiring, zipties are ok, but properly done wire loom is better imo. hanging wires tend to get stuck on things and make for a bird's nest when you go for dis-assembly, at least for me. also you could shorten up the motor wires a bit. not tearing your work apart, just suggestion.

i am digging the looks of the cougar and comp claw combo though.
