Well, um, what's up with your shark fin? Also, anyway to mount that tranny so your motor is lower?

Your rear uppers need to be moved higher on the chassis

Looks like it is on a servo, rear steer I assume.

My opinion, take it back to the stock link under the servo.

Yup, it's on top of my rear servo mounted to a piece of kydex that I cobbled real quick.

Interesting, why rear steer?

Also, what tranny is that? It puts that motor way to high up, you'll have less than desirable stability

Re: OverkillRC's: The Phoenix

its an lnc trans with some hr aluminum housings. and agreed on clocking the motor back down to stock position, i think that that is just going to be a headache on rock.

Re: OverkillRC's: The Phoenix

Hey guys, i put 4 more chassis up on my website as a pre-order. ETA ship date is in about 4 weeks (late april) once i get the new fins and skids

I have material headed to the new machinist (appox 1 week), it'll take him about a week to get the program written/proven, 1 week worth of shipping to me to approve the parts, then it'll be another week for him to run the rest of the parts and ship them to me. Once i get them, they will be shipped out.

Re: OverkillRC's: The Phoenix

I should have my first fin in a week, once i approve it my machinist will run the rest, skids are afew more days out. So were talking 2-3 weeks and i'll be shipping out good parts

I'm working on a pretty cool insert how-to as well...the format its very time consuming, but the end results are spectacular...i'll be doing this for all my products from here on out, i'm the using inserts as my lab rat to figure stuff out.

The approach for install is abit different than petes, the way i'm writing it up is easier todo with less risk involved but its more time consuming

Re: OverkillRC's: The Phoenix

Interesting, kinda disturbing it broke there...i've abused the hell out of mine with 10-20ft falls/tumbles.

I believe i sent everyone a spare insert, if you still have it, drill the skid out, and thread it in, then drill a hole a the chassis there and bolt it back together.

If that doesn't fix it i'll try and get you another one

Fish11 04-08-2012 05:27 PM

Idk if that will work bc it's right bye the hole for the bar that holds the links

Fish phone

losikid 04-08-2012 05:32 PM

Re: OverkillRC's: The Phoenix

i mean drill out that hole and put the insert in it. You can still get a small pin through the insert to beat out the captured pin

Fish11 04-08-2012 05:34 PM

Ohhhhhhhhh ok I will tri that

Fish11 04-08-2012 08:11 PM

I was looking at it looks like it hit the fin win it hit so it pulled the upper links back so thats y it did that Has this ever did that to you ?

Fish11 04-14-2012 02:58 PM

Only way to run a high a belly and have good side hilling is to make sure weight is as low as possible. And white springs are too stiff.

Also widening the trackwidth helps too.

Fish11 04-15-2012 12:54 PM

Ohhh well I have ben playing with it and I'm geting it there and ant the losi white the softest ?

no. the losi whites are 1.8 pound springs. next down is losi gray's at 1.6, then losi golds at 1.4, and losi blacks at 1.2. you gots alot of options there!!

Fish11 04-15-2012 02:33 PM

you'd be surprised how much knuckle weights help...i don't run ANY weight in my wheels, front or wheel....i am considering some front wheel weight though

you ought to start a build thread fish"thumbsup"

Its got me flabbergasted as well...next time i run off some chassis i'll be sending him a replacement.

I don't think the fin could cause that, but i ran the shorty fin till the comp Saturday...i may have to try some fin impacts.

Fish11 04-16-2012 12:21 AM

I might just do that and on the Chassis I have one on the way he just want back to the stock chassis and put topper on it looks good to
