Default Tekin redline in a lcc

I was wondering if anyone had previous experience running the Tekin 17.5 turn with a mamba Max pro 1 cell esc? What are motor/esc temps like? What is the low end like? And what kind of wheel speed? thanks in advance

Lol rctech thread.

Running a 1 cell in an lcc isn't going to work. It's going to be wayyyyyyy to slow

Why? The 1 cell MMP doesn't have an internal BEC or cooling fan (making it smaller and lighter), but is otherwise the same as the regular MMP.

If anything the LCC should be faster, as a result of the reduced weight...

that much weight isnt going to make it go noticably faster. you lose the internal BEC and add an external. 17.5t isnt to fast in a LCC. my buddy has an 18.5 turn and its slower than my axial with a 55t in it. you may want to look into something in the 13.5t rang.

External BEC is mandatory anyway to feed a high torque servo when...

no way. we like the motors to last a while. lol. even 6s capable motors i only run on 3s, some short 4s runs for fun. im sure its quite a bit faster on 4s. and i was just going off of info given and assuming 3s since it wasnt specified.

i run the 1 cell and love it. i have been running it with a novak 18.5t ballistic and it's got plenty of speed. your not going to be jumping gaps or anything, but it has enough wheelspeed to get the job done. i'm running it with a 14t pinion and i can run it about 10 minutes before i need to stop and let it cool down. for comps its fine as we only have a 5 minute time limit per course. i do have a 13.5t that i'm going to throw in and try with a 12t pinion.

as for the mmp 1 cell, i have had no problems with it. i ran it in my wraith, in a honcho, and now in the losi. no heat issues without the fan, and the smaller size makes mounting it easier. the biggest problem with the mmp is getting the sensor cable plugged in fully, the port sits back inside the case a little so if you have some cogging check the cable as one side likes to pull out. i used some small needle nose pliers to push the cable into the port fully and haven't had it pop out again.

one thing to remember is if you use a castle bec, you will have to wire it up per the castle instructions (no direct to servo wiring) as there is no internal bec inside the 1 cell. if your going to run a dig servo i couldn't find a small mini servo that was capable of 7.4 volts, so i set the bec to 6v and run a jr 8711 servo for steering. no reason to buy something like a hitec 7950 as you can't run it on 7.4v.

Oh it won't be too slow. I just assumed the CASTLE 1 CELL only worked on 1 CELL

Stupid castle

Well it doesn't need to be blistering fast because it's obviously a crawler but I would like it to be decently fast because I intend to build it as a class 3 scale rig but if it matters I was planning on using either a 2200 mah 3s or a 1400 mah 3s if weight is that big of an issue. But reasoning behind batteries is
A. Their on sale at my LHS
B. l like long runtimes

you may like long run times, but most losi's don't! do some testing and watch the heat of the motor. the tekin 13.5t would be a good choice.

Personally I think the 13.5 is too much on 3 cell. 17.5. On 3 cell would be my choice with a fair amount of timing added at upper rpms. Keeps the low end and great top end. I run a 21.5 with tekin rs pro, but 17.5 has been on the list.

Not going to lie sounds pretty epic. But I have quite a while ( 1 month) until I can afford everything. But the motor esc and crawler should be put together next week. And then 100 for a 3 ch. controller and 80 for a servo and then a 150 for 2 lipos and dual charger so yeah it's like 800 and I have like 450 so it could take some time and then after that I will save more for DIG and there will probably be more parts broken Then good when it first hits the rocks
