What is the best tire choice for traction on the bunny? Ha! Poor little fella! FWIW, I like the white body so much more. Looks awesome! Hope I didn't miss it, but where did you end up on width? What are you thinking for electronics? I have my shocks mounted to the chassis the same way (I love it). I found that it was much more stable with them outside the chassis, and outboarded at the axle. Looks great, I have enjoyed watching the progress. Please keep us posted. |

For the electronics I thought: Novak 18,5T Motor, Novak 3S ESC, CC BEC @ 7,4V and the 7954SH Servo. The width of the front axle is 280mm, the rear axle is 250mm, all wheels with 600 SLWs The titanium links are in, just 1 front lower one is missing I will post pics of it when the other one is here. I just need to reduce the wires and make the electronic smaller, than it will be RTR. Regards!

I hope you havent ordered your electrics yet. Stay away from novak esc's. Instead go a castle mamba max pro esc. Mmp for short. But the novak motors are pretty good. Mine goes great guns.

I've burned up 2 novak 3s's then moved to a castle MMP and love it! My brother has burned up 2 Novak 3's also and 2 21.5 turn novak motors right along with them! So I would look at Castle for your ESC's and I'm a fan of Tekin brushless motors! IMHO! Good luck with whatever you choose!

IMO the Novak 18.5 crawler with MMP on 3s or 4s is just about perfect. I would highly recommend the Losi Crawler 17.5 and Tekin RS on 3s, but I can't, because the Losi crawler motors are discontinued and very hard to find. This has been BY FAR the best combo I have run.

of course I'll run the Novak BL motor I like the Novak motors... they have plenty power and in my opinion, they are smoother and stronger than Tekin ones. (My brother is running a Tekin 21.5T BL in his Losi Shafty, I run a Novak 18,5T BL and the Novak is way better to drive... just my opinion I'll get a Tekin RS to my birthday this year Is the Gen1 or 2 better? I read that the Gen2 can only handle 7.4V...

| braune's 2014er XR-Losi !!!
Yup, Gen I and II both handle 3s. My Gen I has literally hundreds and hundreds of 3s packs over the last 5 years. Still running strong, after trying too many different motors. Personally, I would look to the Gen I. I don't think the improvements will benefit us crawlers and you can save some dough (stupid, I know, but I just don't like the white). I also feel that the RS is a little smoother than the MMP, and the slow speed is better. Especially with the 21.5 that I got with it, loved the 21.5, I just needed more wheel speed. I have not tried the Novak on the RS. The reason I mentioned the MMP is for the room to go to 4s with out concern. And I think it is alittle more robust, awesome ESC. I run it in my pro shafty, without question. Love it. Another thing that I did was put the Crawler Innovation FXR 4s capacitor on the RS, so I can run 4s. Still makes me nervous, but it is awesome. Don't run it often, but I do notice that the slow speed resolution feels better, of course the kick of more juice, the electronics run just as cool, and longer run times. |
