Suij's new Losi Well the comp crawler I bought from Nebraska finally arrived. Should be a reasonable start into the sporty arena. Specs as is Novak goat 3s esc 21t novak ballistic crawler motor Solar D772 servo Castle BEC Titanium upper and lower links Losi 20* chubs and alloy knuckles I still need to move the electronics up front and will probably build a tray for the front axle. An order for foams and wheels will be going to Onetencrawlers soon. Before you open the axles, read the OlleP Friction reduction sticky. Especially the one about loosening the rear lockouts 1/4 to 1/2 turn from tight. I was amazed how much binding was there. I have also found the stock LNC driveshafts to be rock solid for me. So small (and light), it makes it much easier to fit electronics up front. Looks great, bud. |
2 Attachment(s) Attachment 285354 Attachment 285355 I had the chance to get out to some rocks at a local park this afternoon. It crawled pretty well but I definitely need to move the weight down lower and forward. I guess I will be making some cardboard templates tonight. It will be a shame to replace the nice carbon fibre servo mount but as it is there's no chance of getting the battery down there. I was also hoping to get some advice on where you experts are putting your upper links at the chassis end. I have the upgrade raised link mount on the rear axle on the top hole currently but wondered if it would benefit from being spaced up even more. |

I added some spacers and ran it on test rocks, and added spacers and ran it, step and repeat until I liked it. 4 Attachment(s) Last night I made up battery tray for the front axle and moved all the electronics onto the front links from the rear. Attachment 285532 Attachment 285533 Attachment 285534 Attachment 285535 Clearance on the servo is tight but I have some narrower rims and hubs on the way. I will leave it like this and learn to drive it just minor tweaking from here. |
Suij's new Losi 2 Attachment(s) Finally got new wheels and decent foams onto the losi. C.I dual stage foams and six shooter wheels from C.I also. I am using the plastic pin drive hubs from the wraith trail ready beadlocks to see if they hold up. Got hold of some HD gears and put them in the front axle. I also repurposed and repainted the shell from my old redcat rs10. First comp coming up this weekend. Really looking forward to competing in the 2.2 sportsman class. Re: Suij's new Losi 1 Attachment(s) First comp in the sportsman class could have gone a little better! Attachment 289943 Broke the right CVD shaft on gate 3 of course 1. I knew I was taking a chance with what looked V1 CVDs. I thought I would have broken a pin not the shaft if anything. Got a set of V3s on the way. Oh well was fun while it lasted. |
Re: Suij's new Losi 3 Attachment(s) Well all fixed up with V3 Cvd's. Did some minor tweaking on the steering as well. I also went back to the grappler body as the rollover recovery with the other body was pretty poor. I have updated the drive train to a hobbyking 17.5 sensored and MMP all on 4s. Loving the power on tap now. Also got a set of the bully comp tyres from RC4WD. With o bit of trimming on the pins this thing is hooking up great.
