Default Night Crawler COG

Hi all.
I just picked up a Night Crawler from a member here- thank you!

I've run it a couple of times now and I'm loving it- no comps, just backyard fun.

Question is this. I can live with lack of Dig and lower wheel speed but- the COG is a little high. I am running 2S lipo in the tray.
I don't want to buy batts right now to mount it over that axle or upper links..

Is ther somewhere else I can look to lower the COG?

Move anything you can, as low as possible. Especially the battery. I just picked up an exceed maxstone 10, and have been working on getting cog as low as possible... I'm also trying to move most of it right of the center line, ifi can, to help slow some of the torque twist.

The most surefire way.... Weight the wheels. As soon as my new sticky weights show up, ill be tossing them in. I'll start with probably 6oz up front, and 3oz in the rear, and adjust from there.

Indeed. Quite a challenge- and a fun one. We want ground clearance but low COG. I'll put my engineers hat on.
Any other suggestions out there?

A droop set-up will lower your COG

Without changing the battery... now that's a challenge!
  • Mount the battery under the bottom plate (crosswise). Will lower the COG but probably impede overall performance.
  • Lower the ground clearance using weaker springs, shorter dampers and/or what have you.
  • Add weight to the wheels and axles. Will make the rig even slower.
Seroiusly, a smaller battery mounted in a better position is one of the top priority mods to make a stock LNC perform better!
