Default Billet works designs front battery tray

I was wondering if anyone here has ran the billet works designs front battery tray ? Here is the link

LCC/LNC Servo/Battery Mount Aluminum - Billet Works Designs

I picked one up for my night crawler and it will not fit due to the shocks being in the way. It is advertised for a nc/cc but does not fit with the nc style upper shock mounting. I have been wanting to convert to the c.c shock mounts so I can ditch the top plastic tray. Any info is appreciated.

Thank you

I have the BWD plate on both my rigs,-but with Traxxas Big Bores.

With the XR10 chassis, the angle of the shocks are different,-so no problem:

With the Sucker Punch chassis I moved the shocks down together with the link mount:

I don't know what the originally designed it for. I assumed a stock chassis when I ordered it. The website didn't say otherwise. I am hoping it will work with the comp crawler shock mounts but I don't think so. I sent them a email so hopefully they respond soon. You would think if it wouldn't work with a factory chassis they would say that on the website.

Looks to me like they moved the wheels out with spacers to get that plate to clear on a hard turn

You can't bolt the shocks up with the plate on.

I use their tray as well. But i have a fastback chassis and no problems with fit. Looks to me that the rig in the picture has one of their aftermarket chassis. Oh and adding wheel spacers was a key upgrade for clearance. The wider stance sure helped on the rocks as well!

I missed the part in crashtestheli's post were he said the spacers make it clear on a hard turn. I agree with you guys. I am sure they are needed. Who is a good company to get spacers thru ?

I was hoping to use this plate with a factory chassis for now. How hard is it to modify a axial based chassis like the fastback to work ? Do you use the losi trans or the axial ?

I use the junfac +13mm wheel spacers and stock lnc axles. I had no problems getting the fastback chassis to fit the lnc tranny. Juan at UGC offers the skid drilled for axial or blank. I got blank and drilled my own holes.
