Hot Racing - Night Crawler Parts

I was just on the HR website and, having been there in the not so distant past, I don't remember the metal gear set being listed under the LNC section - however, this time, they were there!

I could be getting excited about nothing here, but I'd swear that they have recently added the gears back on their site - this prompted a neurotic, psychopathic web searching session by me that ended with me finding zilch, zip, nada…

…oh well, one can only hope - I'm going to contact them

With the reintroduction of the night crawler, they really should produce them again.

Exactly plus there's probably like 20-30 sold from this thread. And the fact that if they did reproduce one more time, people would stock them up.

I did send them a detailed email explaining to them why they needed to start making them again:

"Hello!,

With Losi recently re-releasing the Nightcrawler, I was wondering if Hot Racing had any intentions of producing the metal gear set again? I know there are a great many Nightcrawler owners that are still quite passionate about the vehicle and, with the advent of powerful and speedy brushless systems becoming the norm (and more affordable every day), the need for the metal gear sets are higher than ever.

With a brushless system and your metal gears, it opens up the possibilities for Nightcrawler owners to use them as trail trucks as well as to get involved with the ultra popular scale r/c trend. Brushless speed and power turns the slow-moving Losi crawlers into vehicles that can keep up with the newer trail/scale vehicles from vaterra and axial, while still exhibiting the excellent crawling capabilities the Losi is known and revered for.

The only weak link and barrier for those wanting to make their Nightcrawlers really scoot and to extract the performance potential out of the platform is the factory plastic gear set.

So, all of that being said, are there any plans to offer the metal gear set in the future?

Any help/info is greatly appreciated!

I got a response from Hot Racing today - doesn't say much but offers a slight glimmer of hope I guess…

Edit: Whats funny is my plastic gears are still holding strong with 3100kv, 3s and 20t pinion. But I'm still going to order 2 sets of metal gears and maybe go up 2 teeth.

Edit 2: just ordered 2 sets off ebay, $19.88 free shipping. 5 left, order them up quick for that price!

Thanks for the link. I ordered them yesterday as i had to be fast i guess.

Just got my first crawler, the LNC 2.0...looked on here and then went and bought a metal set from HR...don't need them yet but from what all you said,figured pick them up now.
