18 pinion 22.5 worm 1965kv 16.8 volts 129.8m travel in one minute I travel 136m in one minute It looks like we have about the same setup - we therefore also have the same opinion on when the plastic gears break 84yota your setup is 33% too much for plastic gears - Last edited by crashtestheli; 08-28-2015 at 02:59 PM. |

| Re: Hot Racing - Night Crawler Parts I didnt ask, but I could call again and see what they say. I would have to call on Monday since I'm pretty sure there closed for the weekend now. Are you interested in buying 300 sets to resale for us? I know 300 would sell no problem, but not sure how long it would take. But im sure theres a ton of people interested but no one has spoke up till now. No one sells metal trans gears for the night crawler so we need something. |

178 Ish You are 30% more than me I suggest a 15 tooth pinion. Amazing climber. Or 2 cell. Trust me. Mine does back flips if needed |

Was more curious - 300 sets would be nice to know is out there but even selling 50 sets in a year I think is high. ROI isn't to high on something like this even though its an item people can use.

| Re: Hot Racing - Night Crawler Parts Tekin says this motor on 3s crawls the same as a brushed 35t, which is what I was running before. Its crawls awesome, its the same as brushed setup but got awesome wheel spin (for a worm setup) and torque.

I'm running a Tekin ROC412 (2300KV) on 2S and 3S. Still running the plastic gears with no problems. What are you guys doing to strip them? Are you letting the tires suck down into small cracks, locking things up and trying to throttle out? I admit that I avoid this situation but I don't hesitate to stand on the throttle when the tires are free to move and have no noticeable wear on the stock gears. I'm on my second set of tranny gears but only because I set my first ones on fire. I am glad I picked up the HR metal gears (just in case) when they were available but I do kind of like having a cheap, readily available break point just in case I'm stupid or careless. Better to strip these gears then break an axle IMO.

| Re: Hot Racing - Night Crawler Parts Back when I was running a Holmes brushed motor, after some play time I gave the motor a quick squirt with brush cleaner and hit throttle to briefly run the motor only to have it lite off. Dropped it to the floor thinking it would go out after a second or two. After 15 seconds of burning I realized I had a problem. After trying to blow it out (and actually stoking the fire) I tossed it out into the driveway and put it out with the garden hose. Despite my epic fail I ended up with very little damage. The tranny gears were a bit melted (corners rounded), the LED wires were gone and some other wires were a bit cooked. The stock Losi ESC and receiver are apparently reasonably water resistant as was my JR steering servo. Needless to say I altered my method for cleaning brushed motors after this incident.

I've been hoping to see the hot racing gear back out as well. However, I am also of the mind set that I'd rather strip a $9 plastic gear set, than an axle or drive shaft. I run a novak 13.5 with a 22t pinion on 2s. I'm even going to jump up to a 10.5 for G6 meets. I've never had a problem with the driveline at all. |

I know its a little off topic, but schlacker, if you are running G6's with a Losi, buy some of these to keep with you on the trail for your axles and driveshafts. I run my losi's all day long with 13.5 brushless on 4 or even 6S! The only part you will break are these pins. The Axials are a hair longer and more durable. Try to find the metal gears for a LNC trans. Run the HD Worms and OVERGREASE them! You will have NO weak link! http://www.ebay.com/itm/AX30166-Axia...25961721&rt=nc
