Default Jrs losi shafty slow build

So my son has been saving his funds up (he's 5). Which means helping gran and pops with small odd jobs. He also helps me when I work (I do water testing like back flow, csi inspections etc.) he bags samples runs the timers, big stuff for him. He told me at the last event we were at he wanted a big guy rc that climbs large stuff because he has got the scx10 down. He was talking about a shafty. So we were looking in the classified section and found him a losi night crawler (super big thanks goes to shadowcralwer) and tonight he got a hitec 7955 Servo with clamping horn (huge thanks to di_spencer) dad kicked in the airtronics rx37 reciver and tekin 30t pro handwound along with crawler innovation wheels and foams. He latched on to my vintage jconcepts crawler body and has been drawing me pictures of how I'm to paint it for him.

That's awesome. I bought an ECX Temper 1/18 for my 4 year old while I had the LNC 2.0. Once he mastered that, I picked up the LCC that i've been building so he can run the LNC 2.0. So awesome when father/son can run together.

We're loading up for crawlapolaza tonight and have been preparing for it for a while, so I'm behind on getting jrs rig ship shape. I just can't find anyone who owns a shafty sportsmen 2.2s etc in the state of Texas. So I'll be building this up for us to run against each other. We are looking into moveing possibly to a Abbeville Louisiana soon. hopefully there will be comps there.

Ok edit! Apparently crawler innovations has 2 shaftys and he lives in Texas. (hopefully the shafty population will grow like rabbits) I started another build and jrs got bumped a bit. I'm bringing a kyosho blizzard back to life for a member of the fourm. Also waiting for some parts for jrs rig.

Well Jr got lucky last night. He and I cleaned up all the losi parts he didn't need and listed them On ebay and they sold for enough to buy the unstuck losi chassis and front and rear link plates and Servo mount. Robbob said he'd have one ready on Friday. I relayed this to Jr and he keeps asking is it Friday! (dad forgot to tell him it has to ship to us. We have our last comp thus Saturday so hopefully I can distract him with that.

Very cool big fan of the N.C. it is a very capable shafty. Have you guys done the grease port on the axles? It really helps the losi run more smoothly ..and a little quieter..lol

Most comp bodies will fit the night crawler with a bit of trimming.

Well I'm trying to find out about the over drive gears I saw dlux say someone made 25t and a 21 set. Well I got Jr a set of losi HD worm gears 21t that should hold him over for a bit.

The Comp Crawler and Night Crawler have different ratios. I dont remember which is which at the moment, but I installed HR's set of Comp Crawler gears in my NC2 to overdrive the front.

I'm probably about to part all the aftermarket stuff from mine out (got the whole thing up for sale now and havent had any interest) if you need more parts.
