Need Help/Advice With my Losi Night Crawler

I traded up for a Losi night crawler with a custom roll cage 550 motor 18t pinion the motor spur and drive shafts spin excellent and fast when running but going into the rear ends the wheels turn so slow it is super powerful and can’t be stopped pretty much but this thing is slower than crap. It’s like the front n rear differentials are geared really low I mean this thing goes no faster than a cordless drill at full throttle

If link don’t work look on YouTube for Rc outlaws Losi night crawler so slow

The LNC is geared very low. With your 18-tooth pinion the final drive ratio comes out to be:
Spur/pinion (36/18) x Trans ratio (50/22) x spool/worm (25/1) = 113.5 to 1.
A higher turn motor would help. I use a 35-turn brushed motor on 3S. It is not "fast" but is acceptable and still has enough power for crawling.

if it has the 25:1 gears in the diffs, they can be swapped out with the 21:1 gears from the newer models.

idealy, if you want more wheelspeed, the easiest way is to get the LNC metal trans gears from hot racing and take the big gear off of the idler and run your pinion on the smaller gear.

also, most of us hardcore losi guys run a 10.5 or 13.5 sensored setup on a 3s lipo.

brushed motors are kind of useless in these rigs.

Your opinion is not shared by all.

its not really my opinion though. for performance, and maintenance, a brushless system is better. with these axles.
