This is what I did. Put the HD worm and spool up front which are 21:1 and then put the standard worm and spool in the rear which is 25:1.

This will cause the front to overdrive the rear.

Would the Element gearbox/trans work?

the element trans would, but your gearing would be very low unless you directly drive the motor to the input shaft on the trans. even then, your gearing would still be a bit too low.

I know i keep hoping someone one day wold make one. But it seems no one runs the worm axles. I love them and just wish they did make a transmission with 40% overdrive it would be sweet.

use an OD transfer case and either direct drive to it or use a gru on the motor.

IMO, 40% in a Losi worm rig would be way too much. Id stick to about 25% max.

I made a homemade trans that sends 1:1 to the front and 25% underdrive to the rear. Using the 21:1 worms in both axles for durability.

It works fantastic! BUT!!! This is a "Direct drive" setup. Im using one of Team Broods new Riot Outrunners (900KV).

The trans was pretty easy to make with only a drill press. I used 1/4" delrin for the plates, MOD1 pinions for the gears, 5mm motor shaft and 5mm flange bearings.
