Default How much abuse can a worm take?

Anyone have any issues breaking a worm gear? I know heat can be an issue, but what about throwing a 3300kv at it on 3s with some weighted JCConcepts Hazard wheels?

I haven't actually "broken" any drive, but because of the friction there are two things to look out for:
1. Heat! The spool and pinion will get (very) hot if you apply lots of power at any prolonged time. Running it hot will weaken it, at least temporarily.
2. Wear. The standard LNC worm pinion isn't very wear resistant and I've had one getting fairly sharp edged after not that much use. Wear is also likely more of an issue if the drive is running hot.
