Default Upgrades to my stock v1 Night crawler ?

Hey guys . So bought my losi NC in 2010 when I was 20 . I played with it a few times and honestly sat it on the shelf and haven't touched it in 10 years. I just decided to get back into it now that all my time for fullsize jeeps and traveling is limited ,and the fact that there is a crawler park down the street from my house ( harford rocks) . What are some good general mods to make to my losi ? I'm guessing weighting down the front wheels and maybe better tires than the factory ones ? Anything else I should be looking into? Thanks

Since you have a V1 NC, you have 21t gears in your axles. I would pickup a set of the HD worm gears which are 25t and install them in the rear axle. This will overdrive the front axle and give you a spare set of 21t gears which are hard to find.

Grease your axles.

Next thing would be tires. I would go to the crawl park and see what other people are running. I am sure your 10 year old tires are hard and have flat spots. If you are keeping the stock rims, I would add a little weight in the front ones. Now the fun begins, everyone is going to bitch since I said to add rotational weight.

Battery placement and size is the next thing. BWD RC makes a front axle battery plate. Stock electronics support a 2 cell Lipo. I do not remember if it has a low voltage disconnect built in. For crawling small 600 to 850ma battery pack.

This should start you down the rabbit hole or put it back on the shelf for another 10 years.

Electronics would be the next upgrade. The NC works great on a brushless esc and motor. 13.5T motor with a 14T pinion gear and a 3cell battery work great.

Sorry for the mix up. HD gears are 21T. 25T was the LCC and gen1 LNC

This is the part number you are looking for.
