Default Any East Tn. people out there?

I'm from the South Knoxville area.
There are plenty of areas just outside of Knoxville that I take my Nylints to.
I have 2 other buds with 1:6th's & 1 of them has 2, 1:18th's.
Everywhere we "frequent" would be challenging for anything, not neccesarily anyone though. We are a small group that stages "freindly comps". (no score; just gates; since there aren't enough people to need to keep score) We like finding new areas, playing follow the Leader & plain ol' trying to outdo each other.

I think it would be cool if we had "enough people to need to keep score". Click the image to open in full size.

I'm way over here on the other side of Tennessee.... about 300 miles from Knoxville. :-(

Are your crawling locations large enough to support a comp with 20+ trucks? SERCRC is looking for a good location in TN to hold competitions. ;)

Oh Yeah? I used to travel to Memphis & Jackson pretty regularly, that's a long haul to go crawling but I think it could be done.
I will take some pictures of my favorite place this weekend(favorite = farthest) & yes I believe it could probably handle 1-200 trucks But it's not all rocks there's also alot of treeroots but the pics hopefully will explain. Here's a couple teasers of there from 2 weeks ago.

Sorry for the sizes

The places in Maryville are pretty much lit up. So seeing isn't an issue.
Have ya'll tried the Frisbee Golf Course on Northshore Dr.? Be sure to take the walking trail.
Check out the Kroger on Northshore next to Pellissippi pkwy. Yeah... We've been up THAT!(although you neeeeed a spotter)

The place in the pics is past the Y, near Cades Cove. That is where I'll be this weekend, sometime...

Also CSR, 1-200 trucks is too many cause it's a pretty busy place(tourists) but there is parking for that many but ONLY if you get there early! Otherwise you will probably need to get a campsite.
There is a picinic area on one side of the creek (so you can cook up a lunch ) & camping on the other. It is in the National Forest so there are 2 campgrounds REAL close by & more just a little farther away, plus hotels.

Sure is good to hear from you guys here in Tennessee, (Knoxville:-P ). Yeah, we have been looking for some people in the area to go Crawling with. The obstacle at the Northshore Krogers is a monster, can you believe that I made it in my 1/18 Scorpion?! Only in a Nylint.

I think if we talked to the mgr. we may be able to plan a comp or something. I believe that "built" crawlers could have a field day. I've never seen a comp caliber crawler in action, & this is too good of an area to not be used (RESPONIBLY). Don't any of you kids get us barred from there.
Or we might be able to do it at night because it is a brightly lit parking lot.

Here are some action pics. All were driven into but some were not driven out of because the leaves were sooo thick.

I am sorry for the quality of my pics but I have a cheap a** camera.

Thanks for looking.

CSR- You should come up here & take a gander so you can make an edjumacated guess as to whether or not it's comp worthy. If you come P.M. me so we can crawl. We could also go to Kroger!

I killed my 1:6 today. I should have taught it to swim before I let it play near water.
I only took a couple of pics because I lost interest when it drowned.

This is somewhere in Tellico. About 15min drive off pavement to the trail & then a 1.25 mile hike to the Falls.
Almost all of the hike in was downhill. Which meant that it was all uphill coming out. Click the image to open in full size.
Which Sucked Ba***!
The 1:6 Nylint is not light...at all.

Again I apologize for the quality.

about once a year I head up to Maryville (just south of Knoxville) to visit my best friends and thier son (my god son). I think next time I'll be bringing all the crawlers up to hit that Krogers climb.
