Default Tri-Cities Get Together?????????

I am checking to see if anybody in the Tri-Cities area would like to get together for a little crawling? When would be good for everybody and where would be a good place to have it? I am good most weekends. I have classes one Saturday a month but other than that, I am good. Let's make this happen and get crawling going in the Tri-Cities.

Sounds good to me. Saturdays would be best for myself. There is a spot in JC I go to some.

JC would probably be the most central location. Let me look at my calendar and maybe we can set up a tentative date. I have class this Saturday but other than that, I should be good.

AWD199 and myself were going to try and meet up in Johnson City today but mother nature would not cooperate. Just got off the phone with him and we are going to try and reschedule for another day. Just hoping we can get a couple more people interested in the area. If anybody near Johnson City wants to get together with us, let us know.

Sounds good. I'll give you a yell if we ever get together. I ran into someone at Hobbytown in JC the other day that was interested in meeting up to crawl some. I am looking at a few places in Kingsport to crawl. Maybe some of us can get together soon.

Huge thanks to wilrace for telling me about the Morristown spot. He and his family and I got together today to waist some electricity and the place is perfect. Shaded, parking, picnic tables, bathrooms!

It is located in Panther Creek State Park in Morristown.

I posted quite a few pics from today at http://www.pbase.com/spiked3/panthercreek

I plan on going at least every Sunday around noon, and maybe more

If enough are interested we will put together a comp.

In the pic's you can only see so much of the rocks. They go up the mountain pretty far it is a lot of fun to play around on.

Default New R/C Crawler Course in Johnson City, TN

Hobbytown USA in Johnson City has begun to create their outdoor Rock Crawler Competition track. It is located along side the building at 2927 N Roan St in Johnson City. Anyone is welcome to use the track for free but events will be a fee based with appropriate prize awards based on attendance.

Pictures will follow soon. The track is on the slope of a hillside and will be aggressive. There are going to be various sections with names like "The Creeper Trail", "Asphalt Jungle", "Eye of the Needles", "ConCreep Highway", "The Brick Yard", "Gravel Pit", and "Rock Lovers Leap" to name a few. There should be enough completed this weekend to try it out.

If you have any questions call the store at 423-610-1010. The more the merrier. Come by and check out the beginnings.

I'm going to start crawling on Saturday mornings when it gets warmer. I created a facebook page titled "Johnson City Crawlers" so we can all follow the page to find out who will be coming and so forth. Suggest the page to your friends. I don't get online here much but most people have a mobile facebook app so it should be easier to organize events and stuff. Feel free to post on the page often!

Now that Holston Lake is down, there are lots of great places by the 421 bridge.
