Default wheels and foams

stupid question but i need to be sure. my stock axial wheels are running on air and ball bearings right now, my question is if i add foam inserts do i need to vent the rims or the actual tires themselves? in racing i vent the tires to allow dirt to be thrown out but i am not sure what works on crawler wheels. any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will get much better traction if you vent the wheels. Two 1/8' per rim works well.

yeah, get some memory foams and some stick on weights and loose the bb's...I run mine with no breather holes and they perform awesome...alot of guys do the 1/8 holes though. good luck

I'm running Ace Doughnuts and with Claws. My tires are vented and then perform a lot better than star cut or channeled foams

I have been using Kreepy red foams in the front tires and un cut stock foams (the ones that come with your tires) in the rears with a single 1/8" hole in each wheel. The hole helps the the tire to confom to the rock and creates a larger contact patch. I have found you want more traction on your fronts than rears when climbing if the rears bite to much they will take traction away from the fronts and thats bad because thats where the work really gets done.
