Default Dissapointed, Pro-Line 2.2 beadlocks & M2ks

Ok so I just spent a good part of the afternoon swapping my M2k, M3's from axial beadlocks to the new proline ones.. For the first time I actually pulled them out of the bead... and that was just rolling around the house..
To say the least unless you have a huge beefy bead on your tires dont bother trying to put the Mashers on them...

Not trying to be a jerk but I can hardly understand your post.

I mounted some M3 Mashers on the Proline 8 shooters and had no problems. The wheels are very narrow compared to the mounting bead area of the Mashers so it is a little difficult to get things lined up.....but once they are all bolted up, I couldn't pull the bead out no matter how hard I pulled.

Hmmm Maybe I need to retry mounting everything..
My translation is as follows...
Took my current comp setup of Proline M2k's (M3 Compound) off of a set of axial beadlocks, and mounted them on Proline 8 shooter Beadlocks. To my surprise even after they were lined up I managed to pull the bead apart.
THink I am going to try some new foams and remount them on the 8 shooters... that might be part of my issue...

Got a set of the new Proline beadlocks. I like the look of them being 10 bolts per side.
Nice and narrow, cool rings. They go together like butter and hold realy well. I mounted a Losi claw and HPI Geolander. I have a set of IMEX G-Hawgs that have a think bead that could not be put in the grove of the axial rims. These rims will accept the thicker bead without any problem. The hex reciever fits as nice as the new axial rims. They should hold up well, well unless you are Dittohead [Grand master hex stripper]

Problem #1- The first set I got my hands on. Rrght out of the bag they have 2 screws holding the rock ring on, and the factory had stripped them ALL. The 2 sets I got myself were ok

Problem #2 - I mounted the 3 different tires and came up with the same thing. The rock rings OD is about 2mm to small leave the bead exposed.

Thats my $.44

Question

I had the same bolt hole problem out of the bag. I can't even tighten some of the bolts up to fingertight. (up to 3 per wheel)

I mounted a pair of Moab 2.2 tires and they wobble...I've gone around, remounted the tires and tried to get rid of the bounce. It's just not happening...

The beadlocks themselves run true. and hold the bead tight, even with the "loose" bolts.

A friend and myself both bought the prolines and put Masher 2k's on them and both had the bead come out repeatedly. I got home and mounted a moab on one and it seems to hold tighter than the mashers. A different bead maybe?

I run a Masher Moab hybrid and I have no issues with either one. After reading this thread I went home and specifically pulled really hard on the tires. I cannot get them out. I don't know if you don't have the screws tight or not but even with the 2 strippers that I had as well it is solid as heck.

Running Masher 2k's also on the Proline wheel, no issue...they do not pull out of the bead for me either. Plastic wheels with metal screws will strip, so that's why you run a tap through them first and you're less likely to strip them out.

I've had a set of eight shooters sitting on a shelf for a while now, waiting for some 2.2 badlands to come in, and i didn't realize the rings were aluminum, i guess i got a better deal than what i thought, i'll go take them out the package and check them out

If you are using the foams that came with the ax10 wheels they are too big and push the bead out annoyingly

I just mounted my brand M3k M3 in my new proline 8 shooters and they were very easy to pull out of the beadlock:-(

I guess the M2K go on another set of wheels and the new badland 2.2 will go on the 8 shooters

Just put 2 1/8 o-ring under the beedlock, problem solved. Works extremly well, on mashers it's almost a must.

I will always use proline products

I just got a set of 8 shooters and bad lands and they clamp ok but I got screws too that I didn't even finger tight and they stripped? I wish I had known this b4 I bought them. I would have put that money towards some real beadlocks.... MSD's or Mayhem baby... Good thing it's not my comp rig but just prototype rig for tuning things... My comp rig is getting Mayehm's for sure now Not impressed... I will be emailing proline for sure! Now I know I'm not the only one with the issue!
