Default Need help choosing tires...... M2K, rock claws... questions on both

So I'm having a huge problem deciding on tires for my wheely king crawler...

my first question is, how well do the losi rock claws last? Ive read lost of threads, and what I can tell is that they wear fast at first, then slow?... About how long does a set last just bashing, no comps?

How about masher 2k with M3 compound? do they wear better or worse than the losi's?

The biggest thing about the M2K's if I get them is that I would be running them the proper direction... I just cant make myself run them backward. So how much better traction does running them backward really give? Would I be severely handicapped running them forwards? How much better off just getting the losi's than the M2K's running forward?

Really the only reason I'm having trouble choosing is I'm wondering about the durability of the rock claws...

Buy them both and save yourself the trouble of deciding.

I would go for the rock claws over the mashers because I find them a better tire for my truck on my local terrain.

If you are only bashing, surley it doesnt matter about wear?

Mashers wear less quickly than the claws in my experience.

For bashing around i would chosse the m2k's m2 compound, for there durability. You can do some custom cutting on them and they work almost as well as the claws and they last much longer.I ran a set of custom cut m2k's for about 4 years and won a couple comps with them. The last comp i won a very cool dude gave me set of claws for winning,if he hadnt givin me the claws im sure i would still be runnin my m2k's.

I dont like the look of the badlands *shrug* Im going for a semi-scale look, going to have a dodge ram shell eventauly.... I like the look of the losi claws and the M2k's.... Im leaning towards the Losi's though.... I think I will take a chance on the wear... if they last 3-4 months i will be happy.... Thanks everyone.

I'd find out what's most popular and working in your area and go with it. Losi's are great but load up fast, if sand, dirt, or mud is an issue go with the Mashers. Here in Washington Mashers seem to work the best unless the rocks are dry and clean.

Ok then, if mashers, how well do they work when they are NOT backwards? will I be severly dissapointed, or will I be really happy compared to the stock wheely king tires.....

Thanks all. I just orderd my masher 2000's in M3, and some axial 2.2 rockstar black chrome beadlocks. $77.95 shipped from tower... I checked every hobby shop in town, none had the rock claws, and the mashers were at least $20 everywhere.... $14.99 from tower, plus i had a $10 off $50 order code....

Being a Nitro guy, I had a REALLY hard time running mine backwards, till I decided to try it. What a night and day difference in the way they grab.
